Steph Curry had good reason to be all smiles this weekend: his mother, Sonya Curry, got married again at 60, and the family showed up to celebrate.
Photos from the wedding, which Sonya shared on Instagram, captured Steph enjoying the moment with his family. In one image, he’s smiling on the dance floor.
Another photo set included a group of Polaroids, among them one of Steph and his wife, Ayesha Curry, posing together. One of his daughters also showed off her dance moves during the celebration.
Sonya had been married to former NBA player Dell Curry for decades before the two split, a difficult period for the family. She has pushed back on rumors tied to that breakup, asking for privacy.
In a public Instagram post addressing the coverage around her remarriage, she wrote, “This is exactly why people don’t want to share good news with others! Can you just share what is happening now and leave the past in the past!”
She also said she never accused Dell of cheating with multiple women.
Steph has spoken before about how hard his parents’ divorce was on him. In an interview with The Ringer, he said, “I had to make sure I was in that moment with both of them separately, and this wasn’t just this whole kind of thing,” Steph said.
“That is how I choose to approach that. Because it is challenging”.
This time, though, the moment was about family coming together for Sonya’s new chapter. The photos told that story clearly: Steph there, Ayesha there, the kids there, all of them celebrating with her.

Warriors Face An Opening Night Luka Problem Kerr Must Solve
Steve Kerrs opening-night lineup plans already hint at how thin the Warriors margin may be when the Lakers arrive with Luka Doncic in the spotlight. Kerr has floated a small group built around Stephen Curry, Brandin Podziemski, Gui Santos, Yaxel Lendeborg and Draymond Green, a look that says as much about the rosters available bodies as it does about the coaching staffs confidence in pace and versatility.
The bigger issue is how Golden State absorbs Doncic without a clean one-on-one answer for him. With key players unavailable because of injury, the Warriors are short on natural perimeter defenders, which makes the decision more complicated than simply assigning a stopper. Kerr and his staff have to choose between trusting single coverage or sending help early, and opening night could hinge on which approach they settle on. [Read more 🡒]
Draymond Green Had A Blunt Response To Viral Camp Chatter
A viral social media post about Draymond Greens appearance at camp quickly made the rounds, with the focus landing on whether the Warriors forward had added weight. Green had a simple explanation for why the shirt looked the way it did, pushing back on the chatter and framing the whole thing as a matter of optics more than condition.
For Golden State, the bigger takeaway is familiar: Green is not interested in spending time on outside criticism, and he said he feels he is in decent shape for where he wants to be right now. It is the kind of blunt response that has long defined him, even when the conversation starts with something as routine as camp photos and ends with his usual no-nonsense shrug at the noise. Warriors' Big Trade Gamble Already Looks More Fragile Than Expected
The Warriors entered the fall hoping their deal with Atlanta would give them a fresh front-line piece in Kristaps Porzingis, but the early returns have been messy. Porzingis has missed all of training camp and preseason because of an illness, and he is expected to sit out the season opener, leaving Golden State without the player it likely envisioned as a centerpiece in the trade.
There is still a long runway for this move to be judged, but the immediate picture is less stable than the Warriors probably wanted after parting with Jonathan Kuminga and Buddy Hield in the transaction. The Hawks moving on from Kuminga only added another layer to the uncertainty, and with Porzingis on a partially guaranteed deal, Golden States gamble looks like one that could still swing either way depending on how much it gets from him once he is actually available.
