Steph Curry didn’t wait around for the usual third-quarter takeover. Against an Orlando team missing Paolo Banchero and Jalen Suggs, he got going early and kept rolling late, carrying the Warriors to a 126-119 overtime win at Chase Center on Saturday night.
Curry finished with 41 points, and 19 of them came in the fourth quarter and overtime. He was 5-of-6 from the field in the first half, then turned the closing stretch into his own showcase. Draymond Green added 13 assists, Yaxel Lendeborg scored 23, and Franz Wagner led Orlando with 30.
The victory pushed Golden State’s winning streak to seven games.
The Warriors had to survive a frantic finish just to get there. Curry scored the final 12 points of regulation for Golden State, including a stretch where he pushed the Warriors ahead 106-103 with a minute left, then answered Orlando’s response by drawing free throws with 37 seconds to go and knocking both down. Wagner came back with a quick floater, and Curry answered again, reaching 36 points on a running hook through traffic with 25 seconds left.
But Orlando kept punching. Wendell Carter Jr. hit a triple, Jamal Cain tied it at 108 with a putback, and the game spilled into overtime.
Golden State’s offense had already been wobbling after a strong start. The Warriors led 57-41 at halftime, but four turnovers and a string of missed shots opened the door for Orlando.
The Magic tied it at 69 on a jumper from Jase Richardson, son of Warriors icon Jason Richardson, then took their first lead on a Tristan De Silva 3-pointer. Orlando eventually stretched that edge to as many as six.
The game also got testy in the first half. Georges Niang wrapped up Wendell Carter Jr. on a foul, the two had to be separated, and both players were hit with technical fouls after a lengthy review.
Golden State answered Orlando’s surge with a mix of Curry brilliance and timely help. Niang scored five quick points early in the fourth to tie the game at 85, and Lendeborg also put together a 5-0 burst to help keep the Warriors in front. Curry then found Lendeborg for a fastbreak dunk with eight minutes left, setting up the wild finish.
Lendeborg was a major factor in the fourth quarter, making all four of his shots and even blocking Wagner in isolation after finishing a layup in traffic. He nearly stole the game at the end of regulation with a halfcourt heave that hit the back rim.
Overtime belonged to the Warriors after a shaky start. Backup center Charles Bassey scored the first four points of the extra period for Orlando while Curry sat, but Curry and Green returned with 3:48 left. De Silva briefly put the Magic ahead by one with a triple, only for Curry to answer with an and-1 finger roll through contact.
Wendell Carter Jr. then missed two free throws on the next possession, and the Chase Center crowd erupted. Carter Jr. split the next pair, and Lendeborg finished the job with a dunk in the final 11 seconds.
The Warriors, who began the season 0-3, entered Saturday as one of the league’s hottest teams after six straight wins. They’ll get a day off before closing their homestand against New Orleans on Monday, then head out on a road trip through the Southwestern Division.

Stephen Curry Just Reached Another Shooting Mark Few Ever Touch
Stephen Curry added another line to a resume already packed with them at Chase Center, knocking down a three-pointer in his 100th straight game with the Warriors. It came during a first half in which Golden State had help beyond its usual centerpiece, with rookie Yaxel Lendeborg and Brandin Podziemski contributing as the Warriors carried a lead into the stretch before halftime.
Orlando, though, did not let the moment turn into a runaway. Franz Wagner and Jamal Cain helped keep the Magic within striking distance and made the game feel competitive well into the second quarter, a reminder that even on a night when Curry reaches a rare shooting milestone, Golden State still has to finish the job against a team willing to hang around. Chris Mullin Just Raised The Stakes On Yaxel Lendeborgs Hot Start
Yaxel Lendeborgs first nine games have given the Warriors something real to talk about early in the 2026-27 season. The rookie has been producing across the board, averaging 21 points, 7.1 rebounds and 4.1 assists while looking like a player who is already comfortable carrying a heavy load. For a team that is always watching for the next homegrown piece, that kind of start naturally gets attention.
Chris Mullin added even more weight to it this week by publicly backing the rookies trajectory. The Hall of Famer said Lendeborg could be in the Rookie of the Year conversation and even projected a ceiling that includes future All-Star and All-NBA status, which is a lot to put on a player this early. It is only one voice, and only a start, but it shows how quickly Lendeborgs opening stretch has turned into one of the more interesting developments around the Warriors. [Read more 🡒]
Klay Thompson Just Reopened A Warriors Debate Fans Can't Ignore
Klay Thompsons first game against the Warriors as a member of the Heat had the kind of emotional backdrop that always seems to follow him around the Bay Area. He scored 11 points and added three assists in Miamis loss, but the bigger takeaway came after the final buzzer, when Thompson made it clear he still carries thoughts of a possible reunion with Golden State and appreciates the support he continues to get from fans in the region.
For Warriors fans, that is the part that keeps the conversation alive. Thompson is under contract with Miami now, but he also has a player option for next season, which leaves the door open just enough to keep the speculation going. Even with the move already made, his connection to Golden State has not gone away, and this latest visit only reminded everyone how hard it is to fully close the book on a player who helped define an era.
