Kristaps Porzingis Stuns Boston Fans With His Return Performance

Kristaps Porzingis reflects on his challenging return to Boston, acknowledging the road to full recovery and showing glimpses of promise despite shooting struggles.

Kristaps Porzingis made his return to Boston, and while the reception was warm, his performance was a mixed bag as he continues to battle back from Achilles tendinitis and illness. The Warriors are on a six-game road trip, hitting up all five of Porzingis' former teams. Though he missed the game against the Knicks, he lit up the Wizards with a 30-point performance before facing the Celtics.

Porzingis shared his thoughts on coming back to Boston and how he's feeling physically. "I've still got a good way to go," he admitted.

"Today, my engine felt a bit in overdrive. Maybe it was the return to Boston, but I didn't feel my best.

Last game was better. I'm expecting to improve game by game.

I'm about 60% of where I want to be."

Despite struggling with his shot, going 4-13 from the field and 2-7 from three-point range, Porzingis still made his mark. He posted the only positive plus/minus for the Warriors at +3 in 23 minutes. His stat line boasted 11 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals, and 2 blocks, all without a single turnover.

Porzingis has now logged four consecutive double-digit scoring games. If he can continue to regain his health and extend his minutes past the 30 mark, the Warriors might have a promising run ahead.
