The Golden State Warriors will be without Draymond Green for their matchup against the Memphis Grizzlies on Wednesday night. Initially listed as questionable, Green's status was later downgraded, leaving the Warriors without several key players, including Steph Curry, Jimmy Butler, De’Anthony Melton, Kristaps Porzingis, and Seth Curry. Green, a four-time All-Star, has played in 48 games this season, averaging 8.5 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 5.1 assists with shooting splits of 41.0% from the field, 32.0% from three, and 70.7% from the free-throw line.
Despite these absences, the Warriors still have a solid shot at victory. They're up against a Grizzlies team that's also dealing with significant roster gaps. Memphis's injury report lists Ja Morant, Zach Edey, Santi Aldama, Cedric Coward, Brandon Clarke, and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope as unavailable, with Kyle Anderson's status still uncertain.
Interestingly, the Warriors have sometimes found a more fluid offensive rhythm without Green this season. As he’s moved into his mid-30s, Green's offensive impact has waned, allowing defenses to shift their focus. In his absence, the Warriors will lean on Al Horford and Quinten Post at the center position, both of whom offer a threat from beyond the arc, potentially stretching the floor and opening up opportunities for the Warriors’ offense.
