Draymond Green has given fans a hopeful update on Steph Curry's injury status, easing concerns about the Warriors star being sidelined for the rest of the season. Green, speaking on his podcast, addressed the swirling rumors and made it clear that Curry is determined to return to the court as soon as possible.
Green stated, "I don’t think Steph is getting shut down for the season. He’s doing everything he can to get back.
He’s progressing well and is very eager to return. Whether it’s for one game or five, Steph wants to play and is working hard to make it happen."
Curry's season has been marred by injuries, with his latest setback being a runner's knee. Despite this, he's managed to play 39 games, averaging 31.3 minutes, 27.2 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 4.8 assists per game on 46.8% shooting. Those numbers highlight just how crucial he is to the Warriors’ success.
The Warriors recently got a positive update on Curry’s recovery. Before their 116-93 loss to the Denver Nuggets, head coach Steve Kerr shared that Rick Celebrini, the team's VP of player health and performance, informed him of Curry having a “good session” in his rehab. A status update is expected soon.
Currently sitting at 36-39, the Warriors are in 10th place in the fiercely competitive Western Conference. They've secured a spot in the play-in tournament, even after losing both Curry and Jimmy Butler to injuries.
Butler, who suffered a right ACL tear in January, is out for the season. Having Curry back for the play-in tournament could be pivotal for the Warriors as they look to make a playoff push.
