Draymond Green Just Reinforced The Reputation Warriors Fans Know Well

Draymond Green candidly opens up about harboring grudges and crafting long-term plans for revenge against fellow players, revealing insights into his competitive psyche.

Draymond Green made it clear he doesn’t file things away and forget them - he keeps score.

That came through during a recent appearance by NBA All-Star Deni Avdija on Draymond Green’s Show, where the two revisited an old on-court moment that clearly stuck with both of them. Avdija brought up the play, recalling the exchange that followed after he said he hit Green pretty hard during a game.

“Do you remember? Well, I told this story, but do you remember?

I think it was last year or two years ago. I hit you pretty hard or something.

I forgot, and then you came up to me. You were like, “Oh, watch.

Next time you go to the rim, watch what happens,” Avdija asked Green.

He said he spent the rest of the game waiting for Green to respond physically.

“But then, every time I drove, I was waiting for that elbow, punch, shove, or something. At the end of the game, I came up to you and was like, ‘Hey, Dray, man, I was waiting for you the whole game.

I thought you were gonna get me back, man. What are you doing?”

he added.

Green’s answer explained a lot about how he operates.

“I just loved your response to it. I was a little pissed off at the way you hit me, but when I said it to you, you were just like, ‘Yeah, all right.

What’s up? All right.’

I possibly did go on and forget, but I can always respect somebody who’s willing to take it there, you know?” Draymond Green responded.

Then came the part that really laid out his mentality. Green said some matchups stick with him for years.

“Now, I will tell you, Deni, some guys I don’t get back for a couple of years. Some guys, you know, I have the brain of an elephant, so I never forget.

Sometimes it takes me a couple of years to get you back. But you’re hard, right, Deni?

So I’m still going to get you because you laid me out.”

He also brought up another grievance, this one involving Xavier Tillman.

“It’s one thing I’m mad about: I didn’t get to get my young fella from Michigan State, Xavier Tillman. We were playing against the Grizzlies, and he laid me out. I told him, ‘I’mma get you, X,’ and he just went overseas, so I can’t get him.

“So, I’m gonna have to get him. One year, when he comes back to Michigan State at Grind Week.

But I got the mind of an elephant, and I don’t forget. I just sometimes let it go on,” Draymond Green concluded.

For Green, the message was as blunt as it gets: he remembers the collisions, he remembers the words, and he’s willing to wait.

Warriors Face An Opening Night Luka Problem Kerr Must Solve

Steve Kerrs opening-night lineup plans already hint at how thin the Warriors margin may be when the Lakers arrive with Luka Doncic in the spotlight. Kerr has floated a small group built around Stephen Curry, Brandin Podziemski, Gui Santos, Yaxel Lendeborg and Draymond Green, a look that says as much about the rosters available bodies as it does about the coaching staffs confidence in pace and versatility.

The bigger issue is how Golden State absorbs Doncic without a clean one-on-one answer for him. With key players unavailable because of injury, the Warriors are short on natural perimeter defenders, which makes the decision more complicated than simply assigning a stopper. Kerr and his staff have to choose between trusting single coverage or sending help early, and opening night could hinge on which approach they settle on. [Read more 🡒]

Draymond Green Had A Blunt Response To Viral Camp Chatter

A viral social media post about Draymond Greens appearance at camp quickly made the rounds, with the focus landing on whether the Warriors forward had added weight. Green had a simple explanation for why the shirt looked the way it did, pushing back on the chatter and framing the whole thing as a matter of optics more than condition.

For Golden State, the bigger takeaway is familiar: Green is not interested in spending time on outside criticism, and he said he feels he is in decent shape for where he wants to be right now. It is the kind of blunt response that has long defined him, even when the conversation starts with something as routine as camp photos and ends with his usual no-nonsense shrug at the noise. Steph Curry Showed Up For A Big Family Moment After Turmoil

After a stretch of very public family tension, the Currys had something far different to celebrate: Sonya Currys wedding, with Steph Curry among the relatives on hand for the occasion. Photos shared on social media showed the family marking the moment together, a reminder that even amid years of speculation and scrutiny, the Curry name still carries a strong family presence off the court.

Sonya has also recently addressed the rumors that have lingered around her past divorce, asking for privacy as old claims continue to resurface. For Steph and the Warriors, the on-court focus may always come first, but this was one of those personal milestones that matters just as much to the people inside the family circle. [Read more 🡒]
