The Golden State Warriors have been swirling in trade rumors lately, and one name keeps coming up: Giannis Antetokounmpo. It’s the kind of buzz that turns heads across the league-and apparently even inside the Warriors' own locker room.
Draymond Green, never one to shy away from speaking his mind, addressed the speculation head-on in the latest episode of The Draymond Green Show. The veteran forward made it clear that, despite all the chatter, he’s not sitting on any insider info. In fact, he’s just as in the dark as the rest of us.
“There’s been a lot of news about the trade deadline and the Dubs,” Green said. “As of yesterday, everybody is talking Giannis, and does the Warriors make a trade for Giannis?
This is not the podcast you find that out. I actually don't have a f****** clue.”
That’s classic Draymond-blunt, unfiltered, and honest. He went on to say that all he knows is what’s already out in the public: reports suggesting Giannis could be preparing for an eventual exit from Milwaukee.
Whether that happens before the February 5 trade deadline or during the offseason, Green didn’t pretend to have any answers. “I have no idea,” he added.
“I know what you know.”
What we do know is that the Warriors still have a few days to explore any potential deal before the trade window closes. But if you’re hoping for a scoop from Green, don’t hold your breath-he’s not tipping the Warriors’ hand, and by his own admission, he’s not in the loop on this one.
As for Giannis, the two-time MVP is currently sidelined with a calf injury and isn’t expected back until late February or early March. He’s appeared in 30 of the Bucks’ 46 games this season, and when he’s been on the floor, he’s been nothing short of dominant. The nine-time All-Star is putting up 28.0 points, 10.0 rebounds, and 5.6 assists per game while shooting a blistering 64.5% from the field and an eye-popping 39.5% from deep.
Those numbers aren’t just impressive-they’re the kind of stats that make front offices pick up the phone. Giannis is a generational talent, and if Milwaukee is truly open to moving him, the line of interested teams will stretch around the block. But whether Golden State is seriously in that mix-or whether this is just another round of deadline-season noise-remains to be seen.
For now, we’re all playing the waiting game. And that includes Draymond Green.
