The Georgia Bulldogs left Saturday with a 20-17 win over Alabama, and with Texas also losing, they moved into the No. 1 spot in the country. But the result wasn’t the only thing drawing attention.
Hours after the game, two videos began circulating on social media that purported to show Kirby Smart addressing his team before and after the matchup. The recordings are shot from above, so the speaker can’t be seen, but the context suggests that, if the videos are authentic, Smart was the one doing the talking.
The pregame clip picked up right after a team prayer and showed Smart opening with a blunt burst of energy. “Hey, grab a knee,” Smart allegedly said after the team prayer.
“Every one of you motherf---, I love you. This team’s special.
This team’s fucking special. Shut the god damn door.
Shut the god damn door.”
From there, the message only got more intense.
“Let’s fucking kick these guys’ asses,” Smart continued. “Its the same f-ing team we played about eight months ago.
And all they want to talk about is the officials. All they want to talk about is the officials.
That’s all they f-ing wanna talk about. You know what guys?
It’s a him or me game tonight motherf--. It’s a him or me.
It’s him or f-ing me! That’s it!”
Georgia had already beaten Alabama in the SEC championship in December.
Smart then drove home the tone of the night with another hard-edged stretch of the speech.
“We control this motherf--,” yelled Smart. “We practice the right way, we do this sh- the right way.
You better make these motherf-- believe… f- the scoreboard. I don’t give a f- about the scoreboard… don’t give a f- about the scoreboard… I want to f- these bitches up.
You hear me?”
A separate clip was also said to show Smart after the game in the locker room.
The public reaction makes one thing clear: this is exactly the kind of fire a program usually keeps behind closed doors. If the videos are real, Georgia will almost certainly want to know who let them out.

Georgia Tech's Next ACC Test Just Got A Lot More Real
Georgia Techs next chance to settle back into ACC play now has a firm time and place, with the league announcing a late-October visit from Boston College to Bobby Dodd Stadium at Hyundai Field. The matchup has the feel of an early pivot point for both teams, since each is trying to climb out of a 2-3 start and find some traction in conference play.
For the Yellow Jackets, the timing matters as much as the opponent. They already have a small edge in the league standings, but a home game in the afternoon window gives them a chance to build on it before the schedule starts to tighten further. Boston College arrives still searching for its first ACC win, which only adds a little more weight to a game that now looks even more meaningful than it did a week ago. [Read more 🡒]
Georgia Tech May Finally Be Turning A Corner At The Right Time
Georgia Techs win over Duke gave the Yellow Jackets a little more breathing room and a lot more reason to believe the recent progress is real. The victory stretched their run against the Blue Devils to six straight, and it came with signs that the offense is starting to find a better rhythm at the right time, with Alberto Mendoza directing the attack efficiently and the ground game doing enough to keep Duke from settling in.
Trelain Maddox gave the day an extra jolt with a productive outing on the ground, while the broader picture still points to a team that has improved but is not finished yet. The articles breakdown of both the offense and defense makes clear there is still work to do before Virginia Tech arrives, but Georgia Tech is at least playing like a team that understands what it needs to clean up, and when. Georgia Tech Just Kept Its ACC Path Alive In A Crowded Race
Georgia Techs win over Duke did more than just add another ACC victory to the ledger. It kept the Yellow Jackets squarely in a crowded race near the top of the league, where several one-loss teams are trying to chase down unbeaten Miami and every conference result seems to reshuffle the picture. With Wake Forest, Clemson and Pittsburgh still ahead on the schedule, the Jackets know there is little margin for error if they want to stay in the thick of the ACC conversation and keep their postseason path clear.
The next stop is Virginia Tech, a road matchup that now carries even more weight given the way the standings have tightened. The Hokies have dropped two straight, but they still bring offensive pieces that can change a game, including quarterback Ethan Grunkemeyer and tight end Luke Reynolds. For Georgia Tech, this stretch is as much about holding ground as it is about climbing, and the outcome in Blacksburg could go a long way toward defining just how real this run can be. [Read more 🡒]
