Week 11 brings Georgia Tech back into the spotlight, and ESPN’s FPI is not giving the Yellow Jackets much room to breathe against Louisville. The model pegs Georgia Tech at just a 12.3% chance to win on Saturday, a number that reflects where this team stands after the loss to Pittsburgh.
The Yellow Jackets have not looked like the group that had senior leadership driving things a season ago. This year has felt more like a reset, with new players stepping in and a different kind of leadership taking shape. That shift matters, especially now, with four games left and Brent Key trying to identify who he can lean on as Georgia Tech works through its current rut.
Key addressed that bigger picture in a lengthy explanation that went beyond football itself. “So, that's just one I'm sharing with you right now.
It's nothing to do with X's and O's or football or portal, but this has to do with a lot, right? Um, but in the moment, the 26 seniors are all in, but well, every one of them and so many of them have been here for three and four years. they deserve that opportunity to have say in things and it worked out great for but now you see kind of the back end of it right.
“There’s a lot of things small things that add up you know when you you know when one guy goes down or you have an injury and it becomes boom boom boom that becomes part of the the practice routines right there’s evaluation and portals there’s evaluation of coaches there’s evaluation of things and that’s why I like to answer your question like I did earlier
A lot of these things occurred very quickly and some of and a high percentage of them unknown last year, right? Unknown and timing that was not ideal, right?
So when you're thrown into the, you know, decision- making time and its roster, its coaching staff, both sides, it’s a lot of things moving at once. All right.
So all of those things have something to do with it. all of them. Like I said, I'm not going to sit here and blame all of it either .
I’m The accountability starts and stops with me. Thats my job,” said Key.
From a football standpoint, the projection lines up with what Georgia Tech has shown. The Yellow Jackets have been better at home at times, but Louisville brings one of the ACC’s strongest rushing attacks into this matchup. Georgia Tech has had trouble fitting gaps, tackling, and getting runners to the ground, and that’s a dangerous combination against a team built to punish those mistakes.
The challenge for Georgia Tech is simple: that problem has to be cleaned up fast. If not, Saturday could be another long afternoon.

Georgia Tech Has A New Problem Up Front Before Louisville
Georgia Techs first injury availability report of the week arrived with the kind of up-front concern teams hate to see this late in the season. Ahead of the Louisville matchup, the Yellow Jackets listed several players sidelined, adding another layer of uncertainty to an offensive line that has already had to absorb some shuffling as the calendar turns toward November.
The timing matters because the front has been a key part of Georgia Techs identity, and now the Jackets have to manage it with less depth than theyd like. Brent Key also noted that Josh Petty is being handled carefully after making his first career start, which leaves Georgia Tech balancing development and protection at a spot where every rep counts. Georgia Tech Faces One Huge Question Before Louisville Showdown
Georgia Tech heads into its matchup with Louisville carrying one of the more important questions on its week-to-week checklist: whether Brent Key will make a change at quarterback before the Yellow Jackets take the field. Key said the decision will come after practice, leaving the offense in a holding pattern as it prepares for a game that could shape the tone of the stretch ahead. Louisville brings a strong rushing attack, but the Cardinals have also had their issues on defense this season, which gives Georgia Tech at least a path to keep things interesting.
The timing matters because Georgia Tech has its own concerns on that side of the ball, especially against the run, and that is exactly where Louisville can lean on teams. Even with the Cardinals favored, this is the kind of matchup where a small offensive spark could matter a lot for the Yellow Jackets. A quarterback switch would be the clearest sign yet that Georgia Tech is looking for a different kind of answer as it tries to pull off an upset. [Read more 🡒]
Georgia Ole Miss Injury Swings Could Reshape A Huge SEC Showdown
Georgias injury picture looks a little cleaner heading into a big SEC matchup with Ole Miss, and that matters in a game where depth can swing the night as much as the starters. The Bulldogs have only linebacker Amaris Williams officially ruled out, while a few other important names, including running back Chauncey Bowens and wide receiver Isiah Canion, are at least trending in a better direction on the availability report.
Ole Miss, meanwhile, is dealing with a much heavier hit to its roster, with nine players unavailable for the trip. The biggest absence is running back Kewan Lacy, whose separated shoulder leaves a major hole in the Rebels backfield and adds another layer of pressure to a game that already carries plenty of weight for both teams.
