Georgia Tech's bats were on fire during their Friday doubleheader against Stony Brook, racking up an impressive 30 hits and pushing their early season record to a perfect 6-0. The Yellow Jackets dominated the opener with a 14-5 victory and secured the nightcap 10-5 in a 7-inning showdown.

In the first game, Georgia Tech jumped to a 3-0 lead by the end of the third inning. However, Stony Brook wasn't going down without a fight, rallying with a run in the fourth and three more in the fifth to edge ahead 4-3. But the lead was short-lived as the Jackets came storming back in the bottom of the fifth.

Kent Schmidt kicked off the inning with a walk, setting the stage for Alex Hernandez's towering 452-foot home run to left field. With two outs, Will Baker kept the momentum alive with an opposite-field ground rule double. The inning's fireworks continued with catcher Drew Rogers launching another deep homer to left, driving in two more runs and putting Georgia Tech firmly back in control.
