Georgia’s final injury report before Oklahoma brought a little more clarity, but not a full answer, on the status of starting running back Nate Frazier.
Frazier remained listed as “questionable” Thursday night ahead of No. 2 Georgia’s meeting with Oklahoma on Saturday in Sanford Stadium.
The same tag was applied to WR Isiah Canion and DB Justice Fitzpatrick. Georgia also added injured DL Amaris Williams to the report as “out” after not listing him Wednesday.
Frazier exited Georgia’s 45-17 win at Arkansas last Saturday with what appeared to be an injury, and Kirby Smart said afterward that both Frazier and Canion should be fine.
“I think both of them are fine. I don't honestly know,” Smart said Saturday.
“Nate had a little ding. It's bothering him.
We're going to go check on it, and Isaiah the same way. But I thought both of them probably could've played if they needed to.”
By Monday, Smart had moved Frazier into day-to-day territory.
“I think's going to be fine. It's going to be day-to-day - expect him to be able to play,” Smart told reporters during his regularly-scheduled press conference on Monday.
Under the Southeastern Conference’s Student-Athlete Availability Report rules, “questionable” means the player is uncertain to play because of injury or condition.
Georgia’s Wednesday report had already listed DB Tyriq Green, OL Marcus Harrison and DL Chase Linton as “out” for Saturday. LB Kip Lewis stayed “probable.”
Oklahoma also updated its own injury picture. Star defensive lineman David Stone remained questionable Wednesday after recording eight tackles in the Sooners’ 14-6 win over New Mexico in Norman on Saturday night, while WR Jer'Michael Carter was moved from questionable to “out.”
Venables said Carter’s injury happened Monday during practice.
"He ran his knee into a scout-team player during a jog-through, and it kind of popped out. We’ll see where he's at,” he said Tuesday.
“The X-rays were positive, I guess, in reporting the news, so that's all I'm doing - reporting the news. But he said his pain was about a two out of 10 right now, so we'll kind of go from there.”
Oklahoma offensive lineman Michael Fasusi had been trying to play against Georgia, but was ruled out by Oklahoma officials Wednesday night.
Both teams still have two more injury reports to submit, with one due Friday night and another coming a few hours before they kick off Between the Hedges on Saturday.
