Vegas Raiders Stun NFL With Bold Moves for Former Bulldogs Stars

As NFL free agency heats up, former Georgia Bulldogs make their mark with the Las Vegas Raiders and Philadelphia Eagles, securing impactful contracts and strengthening key defensive positions.

The NFL free agency period is heating up, and former Georgia Bulldogs are cashing in big. The Las Vegas Raiders are making moves, signing standout linebackers Nakobe Dean and Quay Walker.

Dean's deal is set at three years for $36 million, while Walker's comes in at three years for $40.5 million. These two join fellow former Dawgs, tight end Brock Bowers and cornerback Eric Stokes, in Las Vegas.

Dean, who battled back from a torn patella tendon last season, still managed to rack up 55 tackles, seven for loss, and four sacks with the Philadelphia Eagles. Walker, on the other hand, was a tackling machine for the Green Bay Packers, posting 128 tackles and eight tackles for loss. Both players, key members of Georgia’s 2021 CFP National Championship team, are expected to bolster a Raiders linebacking unit that needed reinforcements.

Meanwhile, the Philadelphia Eagles have locked in defensive tackle Jordan Davis with a blockbuster three-year, $78 million contract, including $65 million guaranteed. Davis, originally from North Carolina, is now the highest-paid nose tackle in the league. His presence on the Eagles’ defensive line has been pivotal in their playoff runs, including a crucial sack in their Super Bowl LIX triumph over the Kansas City Chiefs.

These moves underscore the impact of former Bulldogs in the NFL, as they continue to shape the league with their talent and tenacity.
