Oscar Delp Stuns at NFL Combine With Bold Commitment to Teams

Georgia's Oscar Delp is poised to make his NFL dream a reality, blending versatility and competition-ready skills honed with the Bulldogs.

INDIANAPOLIS - Oscar Delp is stepping into the spotlight at the NFL Scouting Combine, and it's clear he's ready for whatever comes his way.

“Whatever team drafts me, whatever they want, I’m gonna do it,” Delp confidently stated, gearing up to showcase his skills with the tight ends at Lucas Oil Stadium.

Delp's versatility is his calling card. Whether it's special teams, catching passes, or blocking, he's prepared and eager to contribute in any role.

Standing at the podium in the Indiana Convention Center, Delp reflected on his impressive football journey with the Georgia Bulldogs. “It’s basically the NFL away from the NFL,” he noted, highlighting the rigorous preparation under coach Kirby Smart.

Delp has faced top-tier competition, practicing alongside and against future NFL stars like Mykel Williams and Jalon Walker. “The Georgia defense is reloading year after year,” he remarked, underscoring the high-caliber environment at UGA.

Joining a stacked tight ends group at Georgia, Delp learned from the best, including future NFL starters Brock Bowers and Darnell Washington. Bowers, in particular, set the bar high. “He’s a machine,” Delp said, recalling how Bowers led the tight ends to run with defensive backs and receivers, setting a fierce competitive standard.

Washington, despite his size, embraced the challenge, and Bowers' relentless drive inspired Delp to push his limits. “He taught me how to practice and compete,” Delp shared.

A reunion with former UGA offensive coordinator Todd Monken, now head coach of the Cleveland Browns, is a possibility Delp welcomes. He's already met with the Browns, along with several other NFL teams, including the Texans, Saints, Eagles, Jaguars, and Broncos.

Delp has his sights set on breaking records, aiming to run the fastest time among Georgia tight ends since Ben Watson's 4.53 seconds in 2004.

“I love competition,” Delp declared. “It’s a grown man’s league.” Wherever he lands, he's ready to fight for a starting spot and contribute on special teams.
