Georgia's standout tight end, Oscar Delp, will be watching from the sidelines at this year's NFL Combine, and it's not due to a lack of talent. Delp's absence is attributed to liability concerns surrounding an injury he played through during the 2025 season. Reports indicate that Delp managed to compete with a hairline fracture in his foot, discovered via X-ray.
The good news for Delp is that he's expected to be fully ready for Georgia's Pro Day on March 18. This will be a crucial opportunity for him to showcase his skills to NFL scouts, especially after a solid college career.
Delp, one of 10 Bulldogs invited to the Combine, declared for the NFL following a successful tenure at Georgia. Over four years, he played in 55 games, starting 34, and amassed 70 receptions for 854 yards and 9 touchdowns. His 2025 season was impressive, featuring in all 14 games with 10 starts, and recording 21 catches for 248 yards and 4 touchdowns, ranking him second on the team.
Reflecting on his journey with Georgia, Delp expressed deep appreciation for the experience. "Just being able to put that G on, I mean, it's just special," he remarked, highlighting the passionate fanbase and the support they've provided throughout his college career.
Delp faced a pivotal decision after the 2024 season regarding his future in the draft. He chose to stay at Georgia, admitting later that distractions had impacted his focus during his junior year. "I kind of struggled with, you know, looking at my phone too much... and looking at things that people are saying about me," Delp candidly shared, emphasizing his commitment to Georgia at the time.
While tight ends are set to showcase their talents at the Combine, Georgia's Daylen Everette will be the lone Bulldog participating in the defensive backs' workouts. With Delp's Pro Day on the horizon, NFL teams will certainly keep a keen eye on his recovery and performance.
