Monroe Freeling Skyrockets to Top Six in Kiper's Latest NFL Mock Draft

Monroe Freeling's meteoric rise highlights Mel Kiper Jr.s latest NFL mock draft, with Georgia talent taking center stage.

With the NFL Draft on the horizon, Mel Kiper Jr. has updated his 2026 first-round mock draft, and it's turning heads. Georgia's pro day showcased some top talent, and three Bulldogs are making waves in Kiper's predictions.

Leading the pack is offensive lineman Monroe Freeling, who has surged up to No. 6 overall, projected to join the Cleveland Browns. The Browns are revamping their offensive line, having already added Tytus Howard, Zion Johnson, and Elgton Jenkins, along with re-signing Teven Jenkins.

With Dawand Jones returning from injury, Freeling might be the final piece they need. Despite having just 18 college starts, Freeling's decision to enter the draft seems wise.

His impressive 34¾-inch arms and quick footwork make him a prime candidate for a franchise left tackle.

Freeling's 2025 season was notable, appearing in all 14 games and starting 13, earning him SEC Coaches All-SEC Second Team honors. His resilience was evident when he stepped in against Auburn despite an injury, proving his readiness for the next level.

Next up is linebacker CJ Allen, slated to go No. 20 to the Dallas Cowboys. Dallas needs defensive reinforcements, having allowed 6.1 yards per play last season.

Allen, who didn't test due to a knee issue, is versatile, capable of covering, blitzing, and stopping the run. With 97 tackles last year, his instincts are sharp.

Allen's accolades include being an FWAA All-American First Team selection and a finalist for several prestigious awards. His stats speak volumes: 85 tackles, 8 tackles for loss, 4.5 sacks, and more. He's a dynamic player who could bolster the Cowboys' defense.

Rounding out the trio is defensive tackle Christen Miller, projected at No. 28 to the Houston Texans. While defense is a Texans' stronghold, adding Miller could elevate it further.

Pairing him with Will Anderson Jr. and Danielle Hunter could be formidable. Miller's quickness and ability to disrupt plays make him a valuable asset.

Over his Georgia career, Miller tallied 64 tackles and 11.5 tackles for loss, showcasing his potential to impact the NFL.

These Bulldogs are poised to make a splash in the draft, and their future teams are likely to benefit from their talents. With such promising prospects, the 2026 NFL Draft is shaping up to be an exciting event for Georgia fans and NFL enthusiasts alike.
