Kirby Smart knows exactly where the danger starts when Georgia heads to Oxford in Week 10: Trinidad Chambliss.
The Ole Miss quarterback is the centerpiece of what the Bulldogs will have to solve Saturday night, and Smart didn’t hold back when describing what makes him so difficult to defend. The Georgia coach pointed first to Chambliss’ feel for the game, then to the precision that comes with it.
“It’s the down-in, down-out decision-making that he’s really elite at, the accuracy that he’s elite at,” Smart told reporters on Monday. “The release, the decision.
He’s just pinpoint. He has an anticipation of windows that’s probably unmatched.
I don’t know if that’s God-given, or the fact that he played a lot of football before he got to Ole Miss. He has played a lot of football, and experience helps.
You throw all that in, and you’ve got a tremendous athlete. He goes forwards, backwards as fast as he goes sideways.
He’s just a great athlete that is a great quarterback.”
That’s the profile Georgia is dealing with: a quarterback who can process quickly, place the ball precisely and move like a problem in every direction. Chambliss already showed what that can look like in last year’s CFP matchup, when Ole Miss beat Georgia behind a 362-yard, 2-touchdown performance. He helped the Rebels erase a 9-point second-half deficit in that game.
This trip to Georgia comes with a lot on the line for Ole Miss. The Rebels are in a spot where they likely need to run the table to feel comfortable about their CFP chances, and this is their final game against a ranked opponent. That makes Saturday a major test for Smart and his staff.
Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. ET on ABC.

Georgia Enters A Huge Week With Playoff And Injury Questions
Georgia has reached the point in the season where every update seems to carry extra weight, and this week brings a little of everything. The Bulldogs are two-thirds through both the regular season and SEC play, they just picked up league weekly honors for Chris Cole and Gabe Harris on defense, and the first College Football Playoff rankings are about to drop, with Georgia in position to land near the top of the board.
Kirby Smart used his weekly press conference to touch on injuries, scheduling and the usual late-season roster concerns that start to shape November. Around the program, there was some good news on the hardwood too, with both Georgia basketball teams opening their seasons with wins over NC Central and West Georgia, but football remains the center of attention as the Bulldogs wait to see how healthy they are and where they stand in the playoff race. Mike White Sounds Early Alarm After Georgias Sloppy Opener
Georgia opened the 2026-27 season with a 78-62 win over North Carolina Central, but the mood afterward sounded more like a team that had escaped than one that had settled in. Mike White, along with Blue Cain and Kanon Catchings, pointed to the same early issues: shaky defense at times, too many turnovers and a general lack of cohesion that made the victory feel less clean than the final score suggested.
The Bulldogs did force 19 turnovers, which gave them a clear edge, but the offensive rhythm never fully clicked and the shooting from beyond the arc was especially uneven. With Presbyterian up next, Georgia already has a short window to sharpen the details and look more like the team White expects than the one that showed up in the opener. [Read more 🡒]
Georgia Faces One Ole Miss Problem That Could Decide Everything
The Georgia Bulldogs head to Ole Miss in November with one matchup already looming over the trip, and it starts at quarterback. Trinidad Chambliss gave Georgia trouble last season, and he has only become more central to the Rebels offense since then, bringing both passing production and a rushing threat that makes Ole Miss difficult to defend in a straight line.
Ole Miss has also been one of the more efficient offenses in the country across several categories, which raises the stakes for Georgias defense on the road. If the Bulldogs are going to leave Oxford with the result they want, they will have to deal with a quarterback who can extend plays, create on the ground and keep the Rebels on schedule in ways that can tilt an entire game.
