Georgia’s first road game of the season came with a side of multitasking, at least for one Bulldogs fan. The day started away from the TV and ended with a plan to catch up later, thanks to TiVo, a couple of massages, some yard sales, and a return home around 1-ish.
With Mr. Squillian firmly opposed to commercials, the viewing setup turned into a split-screen sort of afternoon.
There was plenty going on beyond the Bulldogs, too. DD, who spent time at the North Avenue Trade School before earning a degree in International Affairs and Modern Languages, now works in customer service for a financial company.
The search is on for a new opportunity, and anyone who knows of one for a hard-working gNat was asked to speak up. Podunk gave her school choice a thumbs-up, and the two traded some good-natured teasing.
DD is now permanently penciled in for rivalry weekend, with one exception: that wild one with 8 OTs, when she was in the ER with shingles by her eye.
Meanwhile, Mr. Squillian had already done his part in the kitchen, making chicken bites and Rice Krispy Treats, so there was no shortage of food while the family flipped between Georgia’s game against Arkansas and the gNats against Mercer. Podunk’s youngest, also known around here as Podunkpup, had bought tickets and was actually at the Mercer game, which made the whole setup even better.
But the heart of the matter was still Georgia football, and wins get their own celebration no matter how they look. That’s the rule here, and it’s why this week’s Winning Smart Victory Post belongs to Kirby Smart’s latest milestone.
Smart has now coached 141 games for Georgia and owns a 120-21 record, good for a .8511 winning percentage. His 120th win came in the third game of the 2026 season, when Georgia beat Arkansas.
At the same point in their Georgia careers, Vince Dooley’s 141st game ended with a win over Kentucky in the seventh game of the 1976 season. He stood at 94-42-5 with a .6844 winning percentage.
Mark Richt was also behind Smart’s pace at this stage, sitting at 105-36 after a win over Kentucky in the 11th game of the 2011 season, with a .7447 winning percentage.
After 141 games, Smart is 15 wins ahead of Richt and 26 ahead of Dooley. For now, he’s keeping pace with the two winningest coaches in Georgia football history.
