Dallas fans can dream all they want, but Kirby Smart is not walking out of Athens for the Cowboys.
That idea has been floating around in the aftermath of Dallas’ 2-4 start and the loss to Green Bay, a stretch that has left plenty of fans furious about where the franchise is headed. But even with the noise around the Cowboys, there is no confirmed coaching vacancy and no credible sign that Dallas is actually chasing another coach. On Monday, Cowboys executive Stephen Jones reaffirmed his confidence in Brian Schottenheimer.
Still, some fans are already looking past that and latching onto Smart as the answer.
Kirby Smart would be the next Jimmy Johnson. Has the same fire and demands the same respect.
His teams are always prepared and his game management is always good. He gives his team an advantage every week.

I didn’t even think about him, honestly. There’s a good shot he goes to the NFL, too because of all the displeasure surrounding the NCAA and the portal.
Has a defensive coach already here, too. All this means is we probably won’t even try lol.

We have a culture problem. Players don’t need a friend as HC.
Smiling during the 4th. Unprepared, not good at game management either.
Kirby Smart will fix all of that. He has the same fire and demands respect like Jimmy.
Similar resume too when Jimmy made the jump.

It’s easy to understand the appeal. Smart has turned Georgia into one of the sport’s premier programs, and from the outside, he looks like the kind of coach who could walk into any locker room and change the tone immediately. But that doesn’t mean the Cowboys are a real landing spot.
The simplest reason is that Smart already has just about everything he could want at Georgia. He makes roughly $13 million a year.
He has won two national championships. He has built his alma mater into one of the biggest brands in college football.
And Georgia is committed to him through 2033, giving him a program with championship-level expectations and the resources to chase them year after year.
The NFL may be the final stop for some college coaches, but it is not automatically the next move for every one of them. Smart has no obvious reason to leave what he has built. If anything, the experience of his mentor, Nick Saban, in the NFL makes the idea even less appealing.
Then there’s the issue Dallas can’t ignore: Jerry Jones.
Smart has spent the last decade shaping Georgia into his program, with the backing of the university and the authority to set the culture his way. Dallas would be a very different setup. Jones is still the owner, the general manager, the public face, and the man who has made it clear he wants the final say.
That kind of arrangement does not look like a natural fit for Smart. He has a reputation for being intense, demanding, and willing to hold people accountable.
He is not the type to simply fall in line because the owner wants things done a certain way. And Jones has never seemed eager to hand over that much control to a head coach.
That makes the whole idea feel less like a plan and more like a power struggle waiting to happen.
Could Smart ever decide he wants to coach in the NFL? Sure, that’s possible. But there’s a huge gap between that possibility and the notion that he’s headed to Dallas to take over the Cowboys.
For now, he has a situation most coaches would kill for. Dallas may be searching for answers, but Kirby Smart does not look like one of them.

Georgia Just Got The Title Pressure Fans Didnt Expect
Ohio States quarterback situation just changed the conversation at the top of the national title race, and Georgia is one of the teams feeling the ripple effect. Julian Sayins injury and indefinite absence have pushed the Buckeyes into a difficult stretch, and with Georgia still sitting near the front of the championship chase despite its loss to Auburn, the odds have begun to tilt in the Bulldogs direction.
For Georgia, that brings a different kind of pressure. The Bulldogs are still very much in the mix, but the path now looks a little more open than it did before, especially with Ohio State facing a tougher run while leaning on a backup quarterback. Georgias margin for error is still slim, and the attention around its title case is only growing as the season tightens. [Read more 🡒]
Georgia Fans Have A New Fear About Georgia Tech Week
The buildup to Georgia-Georgia Tech has always been about more than record or rankings, but the expanded 24-team College Football Playoff is giving fans a new reason to worry about what the rivalry might look like going forward. With more teams able to reach the postseason, the late-season math changes, and games that once felt like absolute must-wins could start to carry a different kind of weight for programs already in position to qualify.
From Georgias side, that raises an uncomfortable possibility: if a playoff berth is secure, would coaches be more inclined to protect players and lean conservative rather than chase every edge in a rivalry game? It is the same kind of calculation NFL teams make when they have postseason spots locked up, and for fans who still want Georgia-Tech to feel sharp, intense and all-in, that is the part worth watching when this week rolls around. Georgia Just Took A Rivalry Gut Punch Into The Florida Bye
The latest round of college football only sharpened the sense of just how unforgiving a November can be, and Georgia is heading into its Florida bye with the kind of backdrop every SEC contender knows well. Around the country, the results kept landing in ways that reshaped the conversation, with Miami surviving Florida State in double overtime, BYU handing Notre Dame an upset, and Ohio State taking care of Indiana in a game that mattered plenty for the playoff picture.
For Georgia, the timing of this pause matters because the rivalry game with Florida always carries its own weight, and the week off now gives the Bulldogs a chance to regroup while the rest of the league keeps sorting itself out. The bigger question is what this break means once play resumes, especially with the conference race still tightening and every result around them feeding into the stakes of what comes next.
