Georgia’s quarterback future already looks lined up in a big way, and Jayden Wade is the name sitting at the center of it.
The 5-star Georgia commit keeps showing why he’s the nation’s No. 1 QB, even if he’s still a couple of years away from stepping on campus. A new video from a summer workout made the rounds this week, and it offered another look at the kind of ball placement that has made Wade such a coveted prospect.

Wade is only entering his junior season of high school, which makes the polish he’s already showing stand out even more. It’s an offseason workout, sure, but the ball comes out clean and the placement jumps off the screen. That’s the kind of stuff that makes it easy to understand why he sits atop the quarterback rankings.
For Georgia, the timeline is the fun part. Gunner Stockton is in his final season in Athens, and all four of his backups had strong moments during spring ball this offseason.
After that, the Bulldogs are set to bring in four-star Colton Nussmeier in the 2027 class. Then comes Wade in the 2028 class, and that’s where the ceiling gets even higher.
If Wade sticks with Georgia, he profiles as the future at quarterback for a long stretch. After Stockton moves on, the Bulldogs will have a new starter for the 2027 season, and that player is likely to hold the job for one or two years before it becomes Wade’s turn. Depending on when he takes over and how quickly he develops, Georgia could end up with him running the offense for at least two years, and maybe three.
That matters because Georgia’s defenses are always expected to give the offense a chance to win big. Put a quarterback like Wade behind that kind of roster, and the championship talk comes naturally.
Of course, landing a player like Wade comes with a catch. He’s been committed to Georgia since the end of 2025, but that commitment has made life tougher in the 2027 recruiting cycle.
Kirby Smart had to work through multiple quarterbacks choosing other schools before Georgia eventually landed Nussmeier. And it’s not hard to see why other recruits might hesitate when they know they’d be competing against Wade for the job.
That same problem could spill into the 2029 class, too. Quarterbacks won’t exactly be eager to spend their college years waiting behind Wade, and the ripple effect is already showing.
The No. 1 QB in the 2029 class, who is from the state of Georgia, has already committed to Miami.
Still, none of that changes the main point: as long as Wade stays locked in, Georgia’s future at quarterback is in excellent shape. The Bulldogs have had their share of frustration holding onto elite quarterback commitments - Jared Curtis is the obvious reminder - but Wade has a chance to be the one who changes that story and gives Georgia a real shot at multiple championships.

Kirby Smart May Be Closing In On Two Crucial Georgia Flips
Kirby Smart brought in two more defensive back targets for official visits as Georgia keeps working to replenish its secondary recruiting board. The Bulldogs hosted a pair of commits from other programs and, with room to keep pressing at the position, the visit weekend gave Georgia another chance to sell its depth chart, development track record and long-term fit to players it believes can help.
The interest is especially notable because Georgia has had to reset its approach after losing out on previous defensive back commitments, leaving the class without anyone locked in at the position. Neither visit has turned into a flip yet, but Georgia is still in the mix with two prospects it views as realistic contributors, and the next step will be watching whether the momentum from Athens carries beyond the trip itself. Matthew Stafford Just Sent A Clear Message About His Future
Matthew Stafford is still approaching his future the same way he has approached so much of his career: one season at a time. The former Georgia star talked through his mindset heading into the next NFL campaign, stressing that he is focused on the present while also making it clear he expects to be ready for the 2026 season.
The Rams are also being careful with how much contact Stafford takes on this summer, which is part of the plan as he works through a demanding offseason. Beyond his own status, Stafford has also taken on a mentors role with a pair of younger quarterbacks on the roster, including Ty Simpson and Stetson Bennett, giving the veteran another way to shape the room even as his own timeline remains something to watch. Sanford Stadiums Second Year Beer Boom Got Bigger Than Anyone Expected
Sanford Stadiums second year of alcohol sales turned into a much bigger business than the first. Georgias per-game alcohol revenue jumped 32.1% in the 2025 season compared with 2024, a notable increase for a home schedule that included seven games and produced more than $4.3 million in gross revenue. It was another sign that the concession side of game day has quickly become part of the financial picture around Bulldogs football.
Georgias numbers also placed it near the top of the conference conversation, finishing second in the SEC in alcohol sales revenue behind Texas A&M. For a program that continues to draw massive crowds and premium matchups in Athens, the market clearly has room to grow, even if the biggest individual spikes can still come from the most anticipated home dates.
