Georgia heads to Oxford with a rematch against Ole Miss on deck, and the Bulldogs are coming off a statement win over Florida. In that one, the Gators went down in a game played outside Jacksonville for the first time in the interns’ lifetimes, with Mercedes-Benz Stadium’s closed roof turning it into the World’s Largest Indoor Cocktail Party.
Georgia’s defense set the tone early when Aaron Philo threw an interception to Ellis Robinson IV, and from there it was all Bulldogs. Gunner Stockton and the offense never had to force much, but they kept getting short fields thanks to the defense.
Now comes a different kind of challenge. Ole Miss has been a problem for Georgia in recent years, with the Bulldogs going 1-2 in their last three meetings against the Rebels.
The Lane Kiffin era may be over in Oxford, but Pete Golding’s team has put together a strong season and is looking to add another win over Kirby Smart’s group. Georgia’s last trip to Mississippi ended with Rebel fans storming the field after a rainy, low-scoring day in which the Red and Black struggled to find much offense.
Jaxson Dart and Austin Simmons led Ole Miss then, and now the Rebels are being driven by future first-round quarterback Trinidad Chambliss, who has already given Georgia plenty of headaches. His Sugar Bowl performance last season stands out most: 30 completions for 362 yards and two touchdowns.
There is also a key Georgia piece back in the mix. KJ Bolden’s return against Florida showed up immediately, especially against the run, where the Gators were shut down almost completely. Georgia missed him against Auburn, and the expectation here is that he’ll make another big impact against Ole Miss.
Offensively, the feeling around this matchup is much different than it was last week. The belief is that Gunner Stockton and the Georgia attack will take off in Oxford, with a Mike Bobo masterclass potentially on the way.
The bold prediction is Stockton accounting for four total touchdowns, whether that comes through three passing scores and a rushing touchdown or all through the air. Against a Mississippi offense that can put pressure on you, Georgia may need that kind of output.
The Bulldogs will also have to take advantage of a Rebels defense that has been sharper lately, allowing 15 points to Auburn, 34 to Texas and 3 to Missouri over the last three weeks.

Georgia Heads To Ole Miss With Key Availability Questions
Georgias first availability report for the Ole Miss game offered a clearer picture of who is trending toward playing, but it still left a few important pieces unsettled. Wide receiver Isiah Canion was listed as probable, while running back Chauncey Bowens was among six Georgia players tagged questionable. Outside linebacker Amaris Williams was ruled out, and cornerback Ellis Robinson IV along with running back Dwight Phillips Jr. were not listed after leaving the previous game.
For Georgia, the report matters because this trip to Ole Miss already carries enough weight without added uncertainty in the lineup. The Rebels have their own long list of availability concerns, with nine players ruled out and several more sitting in the questionable or probable range, so both sides are heading into the matchup with some moving parts still to sort through before kickoff. Georgia Suddenly Has A Depth Concern Ahead Of Ole Miss
Georgias latest availability report brought a little more uncertainty into the buildup for Ole Miss, with receiver Isiah Canion no longer on the list after initially being marked probable. The Bulldogs also enter the week with several players sitting in the questionable column, including Thomas Blackshear, Chauncey Bowens, Elyiss Williams, Joseph Jonah-Ajonye and AJ Kruah, leaving the staff to sort through a few moving parts as the matchup gets closer.
Amaris Williams has already been ruled out, and the SEC will continue to update the report before kickoff, so this is not a finished picture yet. Even so, the timing matters for Georgia, which would prefer a cleaner injury sheet going into a game where depth can be tested quickly and every available body becomes part of the conversation. Georgia Heads Into A Revenge Game With Playoff Pressure Rising
Saturday night brings a familiar kind of pressure for Georgia, with Ole Miss coming to town for a 7:30 p.m. EST kickoff on ABC. The Bulldogs are favored by 3.5 points at DraftKings Sportsbook, which says plenty about how tight this one is expected to be, and it also says plenty about the stakes. Gunner Stockton will be under the spotlight for Georgia, while Ole Miss will lean on Trinidad Chambliss in a matchup that has already taken on a little extra edge because of what happened the last time these teams met.
For Georgia, this is about more than just settling a score. Ole Miss has beaten the Bulldogs before, and another loss would make the playoff picture a lot less forgiving as rankings pressure starts to build. The game is also available on the ESPN app and Fubo TV, but for Georgia fans, the real focus is simple enough: a close SEC game with a chance to answer back, and a result that could shape how the committee views the Bulldogs when it matters most.
