Georgia has opened the year 4-0 and sits at No. 2 in the country after blowing past Oklahoma by 28 points, but the schedule is about to get a lot less forgiving. The Bulldogs haven’t really been pushed yet, and that changes quickly with a five-game run that includes Alabama, Auburn, Florida and Ole Miss.
That stretch starts this weekend against Vanderbilt, and it looks like the easiest stop on the list. Georgia is favored by more than three touchdowns, and that was before the news that Vanderbilt starting quarterback Jared Curtis could miss the game because of injury. Even if Curtis is available, the Bulldogs still have the clear edge in talent on both sides of the ball.
Prediction: Georgia 45, Vanderbilt 10
The first real stress test comes next at Alabama, and that game kicks off one of the toughest four-game stretches in the country this season. Alabama quarterback Keelon Russell has been rolling in his first year as a starter, already throwing for more than 1,100 yards and eight touchdowns with just two interceptions. The Tide are 4-0, though they have to go to Mississippi State before facing Georgia, and that game could hand them their first loss.
Even with Alabama’s recent edge in this series under Kirby Smart - he has only beaten the Tide twice in his career - Georgia is picked to slip out of Tuscaloosa with a narrow win.
Prediction: Georgia 23, Alabama 20
After that comes Auburn at home, and this one looks much more manageable. The Tigers are 3-1, with their only loss coming against Florida, and they’re coming off a tight home win over Vanderbilt.
Georgia has owned this matchup under Smart, going 10-1 against Auburn, and this year doesn’t look like the one that changes the pattern. The Bulldogs are expected to roll into their bye week unbeaten.
Prediction: Georgia 38, Auburn 13
The bye arrives at a good time, because the next two games are both against top-10 opponents away from home. First up is Florida in Atlanta, and the Gators have been one of the surprise teams in the SEC.
They just crushed Ole Miss and jumped into the AP Poll’s top 10. Florida brings the No. 2 scoring offense in the country, while Georgia owns the No. 1 scoring offense, so this one has points written all over it.
The difference in the prediction comes on the other side of the ball, where Florida’s defense is viewed as the opening Georgia can’t quite close.
Florida is projected to hand Georgia its first loss of the season and earn its first win in the rivalry since 2020.
Prediction: Florida 31, Georgia 30
The final game in this five-game run is another road trip, this time to Ole Miss. Georgia has revenge on its mind after the Rebels knocked it out of the playoff last season, and Trinidad Chambliss is back after giving UGA problems in both meetings last year.
If Georgia has already dropped the Florida game, this becomes a must-have. A second loss would put the Bulldogs in a tough spot for the SEC Championship race and leave them with no margin for error in the playoff chase.
In this prediction, Georgia’s defense finally handles Chambliss well enough to force a late turnover and secure a road win.
Georgia’s final three games after that are projected to be easier, which would leave the Bulldogs at 11-1 overall and 8-1 in SEC play - a record that should still keep them in the College Football Playoff conversation and give them a shot at the SEC title game.
Prediction: Georgia 27, Ole Miss 24

Georgias First SEC Injury Report Puts Offensive Depth In Focus
The first SEC injury and availability report for Georgias matchup with Vanderbilt immediately put the Bulldogs offensive depth under the microscope. Running back Nate Frazier and wide receiver Isiah Canion are among the Georgia players listed as questionable or out, a reminder that availability can shape the rotation as much as scheme this time of year. Vanderbilt also enters with a key uncertainty, as quarterback Jared Curtis is listed as questionable.
More updates are still expected from the SEC before kickoff, so the picture could shift again before the 12:45 p.m. start on SEC Network. For Georgia, the bigger issue is less about one name on the report than how many moving parts the offense may need to manage if those designations hold and the staff has to lean deeper into the roster. Georgia Fans Have A New Reason To Worry About Kemon Spell
Kemon Spell has been one of Georgias marquee commitments since February, and his status is suddenly the kind of recruiting storyline that tends to make fan bases uneasy. The five-star running back is now reportedly drawing real interest from an unnamed big-name program, adding a fresh layer of attention to a pledge that had looked fairly secure for much of the year.
Spell has already taken to social media to reaffirm his commitment to Georgia, but as every recruiting follower knows, the calendar still matters. Verbal commitments can hold all the way to signing day, or they can shift before December arrives, which means this remains the sort of situation Bulldogs fans will keep watching closely until the paperwork is finally signed. Georgia Heads Into Vanderbilt With A Bigger Availability Concern Than Expected
Georgias trip to Vanderbilt comes with a longer-than-expected injury report hanging over the Bulldogs, and it is shaping up to be one of those weekly availability checks that can quietly reshape a game plan. Georgia listed six players on its report, with three ruled out and three more tagged questionable, while Vanderbilt also had its own issues, including injuries to its starting center and quarterback.
For Kirby Smart, the concern is not just who is unavailable, but how much the next men up can absorb if those absences linger into game day. He pointed to the work of backup players in practice, a reminder that the Bulldogs have been preparing for this sort of depth test even if the list looked a little heavier than expected heading into the matchup.
