Georgia’s Sept. 26 home game against Oklahoma now has a kickoff time, and it comes with a familiar SEC wrinkle: the television window is still not fully locked in.
The conference announced Monday that the No. 3 Bulldogs and No.
24 Sooners will kick off at 3:30 p.m. ET at Sanford Stadium.
The game will air on ABC or ESPN, with Ole Miss at Florida set for the other channel. That assignment will be decided after this week’s games.
It will be Georgia’s first 3:30 p.m. kickoff of the season and its second appearance on ABC.
Oklahoma enters that matchup at 1-1 after a 51-0 home win over UTEP and a 10-17 road loss to Michigan. The Sooners will host New Mexico this Saturday at 7:30 p.m. ET.
Georgia’s immediate focus, though, is still ahead of that. The Bulldogs are set to open SEC play on the road at Arkansas in Week 3, a start to league action that gives them consecutive road openers to conference play for the first time since 2019-20.
That 2020 trip was Georgia’s SEC-only season opener in Fayetteville against the Razorbacks. It also stands out because Georgia hardly ever plays Arkansas, and because this will be the Bulldogs’ first trip there since that 2020 team.
The source material also notes that it is especially notable for Arkansas head coach Ryan Silverfield, whose first SEC game will come against the conference’s defending champion.
The Bulldogs’ 2026 schedule is loaded with the kind of games that jump off the page. Georgia’s slate includes three 2025 playoff teams in Oklahoma, Alabama, and Ole Miss, and two of those matchups come on the road.
The opponents on the schedule had a combined 89-62 record in 2025 before the playoffs and bowl season. Georgia also saw five of its 2026 opponents in 2025, going 5-1 against them.
The lone loss was a 24-21 home defeat to Alabama, and Georgia answered that later with a 28-7 win over the Crimson Tide in the SEC championship game.
Another scheduling note: the Georgia Tech game is back on the last Saturday of the regular season. The rivalry had been played on Black Friday the past two seasons.
Georgia’s run through 2025 helped set the tone for all of this. The Bulldogs opened with wins over Marshall, Austin Peay, and Tennessee before losing at home to Alabama in Week 5. After that, they put together a long surge, beating Kentucky, Auburn, Ole Miss, Florida, Mississippi State, Texas, Charlotte, and Georgia Tech before carrying that momentum into Atlanta and beating Alabama in the SEC championship game.
After that title win, Kirby Smart pointed to the work inside the program.
"All the credit goes to the players who have had a very long, tough, hard season. The kids in our program buy into hard.
I appreciate their toughness in the way they do things. That pays off in the long run," Georgia head coach Kirby Smart said.
"To win back-to-back SEC championships, it's every kid in this footprint's dream and an honor to be at Georgia and to be the head coach here and win games like this."
