Georgia’s trip to Alabama now has a prime-time stage.
The No. 2 Bulldogs will face the No.
7 Crimson Tide on Oct. 10 at 7:30 p.m. ET, with ABC carrying the game.
It’s Georgia’s first primetime kickoff of the season and its third appearance on ABC.
The matchup brings together two teams that already know each other well. Alabama owns the all-time series 45-27-6, though the teams split their meetings last season.
The Crimson Tide beat Georgia 24-21 in Athens on Sept. 27, then Georgia answered with a 28-7 win in the SEC Championship game in Atlanta. ESPN’s FPI gives Georgia a 54.9 percent chance to win in Tuscaloosa.
Before that showdown, Georgia still has Vanderbilt on deck this Saturday. That game is set for 12:45 p.m.
ET on the SEC Network, and it also carries some extra attention because former five-star quarterback Jared Curtis is returning to Athens after once being verbally committed to the Bulldogs. Vanderbilt is 3-1 after home wins over Austin Peay, Delaware, and NC State, plus a road loss at Auburn.
ESPN’s FPI gives Georgia a 95.6% chance of beating Vanderbilt.
Georgia’s season has already moved through a wide range of kickoff windows. The Bulldogs opened with Tennessee State on SEC+/ESPN+ at 3:30 p.m., then played Western Kentucky at 12:45 p.m. on the SEC Network. They went to Arkansas last Saturday for a noon ABC slot, and hosted Oklahoma the weekend before at 3:30 p.m. on ABC.
Alabama, meanwhile, is 4-0 and will take a road trip to No. 16 Mississippi State this Saturday at noon on ABC. The Crimson Tide have rolled through ECU, Kentucky, Florida State, and South Carolina, with wins of 48-10, 45-17, 50-36, and 49-18.
Georgia’s broader 2026 schedule already looks loaded. It includes three 2025 playoff teams in Oklahoma, Alabama, and Ole Miss, with two of those matchups coming on the road.
The Bulldogs’ 2026 opponents have a combined 2025 record of 89-62 before the playoffs and bowl games, and Georgia already faced five of those teams this year, going 5-1. The only loss was that 24-21 defeat to Alabama in Athens, which Georgia later erased with its 28-7 SEC title-game win.
One other change stands out on the calendar: Georgia Tech is back on the last Saturday of the regular season. The rivalry had been played on Black Friday the past two years.
Georgia’s season has followed a familiar arc so far. The Bulldogs started with wins over Marshall, Austin Peay, and Tennessee, then fell at home to Alabama in Week 5. Since then, they’ve stacked up wins over Kentucky, Auburn, Ole Miss, Florida, Mississippi State, Texas, Charlotte, and Georgia Tech, then carried that momentum into the SEC Championship game.
After that title-game win, Kirby Smart praised the group’s resilience.
"All the credit goes to the players who have had a very long, tough, hard season. The kids in our program buy into hard.
I appreciate their toughness in the way they do things. That pays off in the long run," Georgia head coach Kirby Smart said.
"To win back-to-back SEC championships, it's every kid in this footprint's dream and an honor to be at Georgia and to be the head coach here and win games like this."
