It seems like the Georgia Bulldogs are facing yet another challenge off the field, as linebackers Chris Cole and Darren Ikinnagbon find themselves in hot water. Both players were arrested on Wednesday for reckless driving, according to the Athens-Clarke County arrest log.
Cole, a promising junior, and Ikinnagbon, a highly-touted former 4-star recruit, are now dealing with misdemeanors for exceeding speed limits. Ikinnagbon also has an additional charge for following too closely.
The Georgia team is aware of the situation, with a spokesperson stating they are in the process of gathering more information. However, as this matter is still under legal scrutiny, the team is holding off on further comments.
This isn’t the first time the Bulldogs have faced such issues. Last season saw players like Nyier Daniels, Marques Easley, and Nitro Tuggle part ways with the program following similar incidents. The trend isn't new, with former Bulldog and current Philadelphia Eagles defensive tackle Jalen Carter also having faced driving-related legal troubles in the past.
As the Bulldogs gear up for their 2026 season opener against the Tennessee State Tigers on September 5, they’ll be looking to address these off-field distractions and focus on the challenges ahead.
