Georgia Lands 4-Star Quarterback After Surprise Move From Top Pac-12 Recruit

Georgia addresses a critical quarterback need in its 2026 class by landing former Oregon signee Bryson Beaver, adding depth and intrigue to the Bulldogs future under center.

Georgia just gave its quarterback room a notable boost, landing 4-star signal-caller Bryson Beaver from the 2026 recruiting class - a late but meaningful addition to a group that didn’t bring in a high school QB during the early signing period.

Beaver originally signed with Oregon but hit the transfer portal after the Ducks added Dylan Raiola, the former Georgia commit, through the portal themselves. With Dante Moore announcing he’s staying at Oregon for another season, the quarterback room in Eugene got crowded fast - and Beaver saw an opportunity to find a better fit elsewhere.

That fit turned out to be Athens.

Georgia had a gap to fill at quarterback after five-star Jared Curtis flipped to Vanderbilt just before signing day. Beaver now slides into the spot Curtis would’ve held on the Bulldogs’ depth chart - and while he may not carry the same five-star billing, there’s plenty to like about his game and potential.

Ranked as the No. 12 quarterback in the 247Sports Composite and No. 174 overall in the class, Beaver had no shortage of suitors. He held offers from Alabama, LSU, and Ole Miss, and was once committed to Boise State before flipping to Oregon back in June 2025. Now, he’s headed to the SEC after all.

Beaver brings solid size at 6-foot-2, 200 pounds, and a productive senior season under his belt. The Murrieta, California native completed 65% of his passes for 1,753 yards, throwing 18 touchdowns against 8 interceptions. He’s not just a pocket passer either - he added 201 yards and 2 scores on the ground, showing enough mobility to extend plays and keep defenses honest.

With Gunner Stockton returning for his final year of eligibility, Beaver won’t be expected to start right away. Stockton is coming off a strong first season as Georgia’s starter, accounting for 34 total touchdowns and finishing seventh in Heisman voting. But Beaver adds valuable depth and upside to a quarterback room that’s already shaping up to be competitive long-term.

Behind Stockton, Georgia has Ryan Puglisi (three years of eligibility remaining), Ryan Montgomery, and Hezekiah Millender (both with four). Beaver enters that mix with a chance to grow under a proven system and compete in a stacked QB room that now features a blend of experience and high-upside youth.

Looking further down the road, Georgia also has a commitment from Jayden Wade, the No. 1-ranked quarterback in the 2028 class. He’s still over two years away from arriving on campus, but the future pipeline is already forming.

Beaver becomes the second player from the 2026 class that Georgia has added after they initially signed elsewhere - the Bulldogs also brought in former Kentucky signee Dallas Dickerson. With Beaver on board, Georgia’s 2026 class now stands at 32 players, most of whom signed during the early period and have already enrolled.

In the transfer portal, Georgia brought in seven players total, but only two on the offensive side: wide receiver Isiah Canion and running back Dante Dowdell. So Beaver’s addition gives the Bulldogs another key piece on that side of the ball.

Coming off a 12-2 season that ended with a College Football Playoff loss to Ole Miss, Georgia is clearly reloading - not just with talent, but with strategic additions like Beaver that address specific needs. He may not be the headliner of this class, but he could end up being one of its most important pieces down the line.
