Georgia’s 2027 class took another hit on Wednesday when Miami Carol City linebacker Temorris Campbell backed off his pledge and the Bulldogs lost a defender they had only recently landed.
Campbell, a 6-foot-1, 210-pound prospect, committed to Georgia on May 13 after the Bulldogs pushed in during the spring. He chose the Bulldogs over Nebraska, Virginia Tech, and 16 other offers. Now, Glenn Schumann will have to keep looking for answers in his linebacker room in the 2027 cycle.
Campbell is the sixth recruit to de-commit from Georgia in this class, joining five-star cornerback Donte Wright, four-star cornerback Jerry Outhouse Jr, three-star wide receivers Gavin Honore and Aden Sterling, and three-star offensive lineman Kyson Mallard.
Even with Campbell’s exit, Georgia still has one linebacker committed in the group: Powder Springs (Ga.) McEachern four-star Joakim Gouda. Schumann made that a major summer win, as the 6-foot-2, 225-pound Gouda picked Georgia over Florida, Texas, and Auburn on June 1 after his official visit to Athens.
Campbell’s production has been hard to miss. During his junior season at Chamiande-Madonna Prep, he was credited with 103 tackles, 10 tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks, two fumble recoveries, one forced fumble, one pass breakup, and one interception.
As a sophomore at St. Thomas Aquinas, he posted 54 tackles, four tackles for loss, four sacks, and one forced fumble.
The rankings reflect that track record. 247Sports lists Campbell as the No. 60 linebacker in the country and No. 69 overall recruit in Florida. The industry-generated 247Sports Composite places him at No. 919 nationally, No. 75 among linebackers, and No. 81 in Florida.
When he explained the move to 247Sports, Campbell said: "It's big for me because I always wanted to go to a program like Georgia. It's a good fit for me.
It's a defensive school. Defense runs everything," Campbell said.
"It's just such a good fit."
Georgia now sits at 23 commitments in the Class of 2027, and the group is still ranked No. 9 in the 247Sports recruiting team rankings.
Campbell’s scouting report points to a linebacker who can play fast and finish plays. He’s described as an inside linebacker who can plug gaps, run sideline to sideline, take sharp angles to the ball, trigger quickly, handle coverage duties with his eyes on the quarterback, and bring ball carriers down with strength once contact is made. The evaluation also notes that he piled up 103 tackles and multiple takeaways as a junior before changing schools, and projects him as a multi-year contributor at the Power Four level.

Georgia May Be Missing A Crucial Defender Against Florida
Georgias secondary could be in a tricky spot again this week as KJ Bolden works his way back from the injury he suffered against Alabama. The safety already sat out the Auburn game, and his absence was noticeable in a defense that struggled without one of its more reliable pieces. For a team heading into Florida, any question at safety carries extra weight.
Kirby Smart said Bolden is hopeful to return, but he still has to get through the doctors protocol before being cleared. That leaves Georgia waiting on one of its key defenders at a time when the Bulldogs would prefer as much stability as possible, especially with a rival on deck and the defense still trying to settle back in after a rough stretch. CJ Cypher Is Back At The Center Of Georgia QB Debate
The latest Georgia QB Index again has CJ Cypher at the top, and after Carrolltons 62-13 rout of Northgate, it is not hard to see why. He tossed five touchdown passes in the win, pushing his season total to 35 without an interception and reinforcing the kind of efficiency that keeps him in the center of the statewide conversation.
Still, Cypher is hardly alone in the mix. Aidan McPherson, Ethan Tisdale, Kamden Patterson and Tucker Parson all turned in performances that mattered in the rankings, which is what makes the Index worth watching week to week. It is built on recent production, efficiency, opponent quality and team results, so even with Cypher sitting on top, the margin for error around the rest of the field remains slim. [Read more 🡒]
Georgia Suddenly Has A Real Fight To Keep Jayden Wade
Georgias grip on its 2028 quarterback commitment is suddenly being tested, with five-star signal caller Jayden Wade reportedly set for a visit to Michigan this weekend. For the Bulldogs, that changes the tone of a recruitment that looked far more settled before the Wolverines entered the picture, especially with a player of Wades caliber drawing attention this early in the cycle.
The question now is whether Michigan can convince Wade its path is worth a serious look, even with concerns about quarterback development lingering around the program. Bryce Underwoods benching has not gone unnoticed, and the Wolverines could also try to make the pitch more appealing with a major NIL package, though it is unclear whether that kind of offer will actually come together.
