Georgia’s pursuit of four-star defensive back Seth Williams just got a lot more interesting.
Williams, a Peach State recruit and one of Georgia’s top targets, had been headed toward a July 3 commitment date with Georgia and Clemson as his final two schools. But on social media, he announced that he is canceling the scheduled decision, and a new date has not been set.

That delay matters because Clemson has already been through this with Williams once before. He was previously committed to the Tigers before backing off on April 9, though Clemson stayed in the mix and remained a serious contender. In fact, he had been predicted to land with Clemson again before the announcement was scrapped.
Williams didn’t explain why he pushed the decision back, but the move gives Georgia reason to believe it may be in better shape than it appears. If the delay had nothing to do with recruiting, he likely would have said so. Instead, the silence leaves the door open for the Bulldogs.
And Georgia could use a recruiting win here. The Bulldogs recently lost another elite defensive back to Clemson, so landing Williams would be a meaningful response. He’s from Georgia, he remains one of the program’s priority targets, and if he chooses the Bulldogs, he would be the first defensive back to commit to UGA.
For now, the race isn’t over - but Williams’ hesitation is a positive sign for Georgia as it tries to bring this one home.

Stetson Bennetts Rams Future Suddenly Feels Far Less Secure
The Rams have added a fresh layer of pressure to Stetson Bennetts place on the depth chart by taking Ty Simpson in the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft, turning what had been a relatively stable backup job into a real camp competition. For now, reports suggest Bennett has the edge, which keeps him in the conversation as Los Angeles sorts through how it wants its quarterback room to look heading into the season.
Still, Bennetts long-term future in Los Angeles feels much less certain than it did a few months ago. He has to keep holding off a rookie the Rams clearly valued highly, and if he slips, the organization may decide it has a different path in mind, either by elevating Simpson sooner or letting Bennett look for a better opportunity elsewhere. Josh Pate Just Took A Wild Shot At Gunner Stockton
Gunner Stockton has become one of the more debated figures in Georgias quarterback conversation, and the skepticism around him has only picked up as expectations rise again in Athens. He has already helped the Bulldogs to SEC championships, and his production last season showed real growth, which is part of why the split in opinion feels so sharp heading into this year.
Josh Pates latest take is the kind of thing that follows a quarterback around all season, especially at a place where the standard is tied to championships rather than just competence. For Stockton, the real test is whether Georgias offense and overall team success can silence the noise, because if the Bulldogs fall short of their usual level, the conversation around him is only going to get louder. Georgia Just Stacked A Massive Baseball Day With A Football Break
Georgia had a banner day on the baseball side, where the program moved to No. 1 in the transfer portal rankings after landing four commitments on Monday. It also comes with a bigger backdrop for the Bulldogs, because the baseball staff keeps adding talent while the programs profile keeps rising in a sport where momentum and reputation tend to travel together.
The football side of the house got a quieter kind of good news, too, with Georgias upcoming SEC schedule landing outside the leagues toughest slate tier. Compared with the heavy lifts facing teams such as Texas, Alabama and Oklahoma, the Bulldogs at least have a relative break in the road map ahead, which matters in a conference where one swing in the schedule can shape everything from playoff positioning to late-season staying power.
