Georgia Heads Into A Revenge Game With Playoff Pressure Rising

The Georgia Bulldogs are gearing up for a pivotal rematch against Ole Miss, seeking redemption and a crucial win to solidify their playoff journey.

The biggest test left on Georgia’s schedule comes with a familiar edge. On Saturday night, the Bulldogs head to Oxford to face No.

10 Ole Miss, and this one has been marked on the calendar for a while. Georgia has revenge on its mind after Ole Miss knocked the Bulldogs out of the playoff last season and also beat them in Oxford in 2024.

That means Ole Miss has taken two of the last three meetings, and Georgia is looking to flip that script.

Kickoff is set for Saturday, Nov. 7 at 7:30 pm EST. It will be Georgia’s second night game of the season, with the other coming at Alabama.

Even with four games left, the Bulldogs still haven’t had a home night game. The SEC could still hand Georgia a night kickoff next week against Missouri, but that decision won’t come until after this weekend.

Fans can watch Georgia and Ole Miss on ABC. The game will also be available through the ESPN app and Fubo TV.

The betting line points to a tight one. Georgia is favored by 3.5 points at DraftKings Sportsbook, with the over-under set at 56.5.

The Bulldogs opened the week as a three-point favorite, so the number has barely budged. ESPN is leaning Georgia’s way too, though only slightly, giving the Bulldogs a 55.5 percent chance to win.

And that’s the kind of game this looks like: close, tense, and probably decided by which offense can keep landing punches. Georgia already proved it can handle that kind of environment with a road win at Alabama under the lights earlier this season. That matters here, because Ole Miss is expected to put points on the board again.

A lot falls on Gunner Stockton and the Georgia offense. Ole Miss lit up Georgia’s defense in both meetings last year, and a low-scoring game probably won’t be enough this time. Stockton will need to be sharp if Georgia wants to keep pace.

The other big name in this matchup is Ole Miss quarterback Trinidad Chambliss, who is back to bother Georgia again. He threw for more than 600 yards across the two games last season and didn’t turn it over once. Georgia’s defense has been better lately, but it hasn’t seen a challenge quite like that yet.

Georgia could absolutely lose this game, and a loss would likely send them tumbling in the first playoff rankings released earlier this week. Still, Georgia has made a habit of getting revenge, and the Bulldogs are expected to do it again Saturday night in Oxford.

Georgia Injury Report Raises New Depth Concerns Before Ole Miss

The first SEC injury availability report for Georgias matchup with Ole Miss brought a fresh look at the Bulldogs health picture, and it was not entirely reassuring. Cornerback Ellis Robinson is back on the available list after dealing with a knee injury, which is a welcome sign for a defense that can use all the help it can get as the schedule tightens.

Still, the report also added tight end Elyiss Williams, linebacker AJ Kruah and defensive lineman Joseph Jonah-Ajonye, creating a little more uncertainty in a few spots where depth already matters. There were a couple of encouraging updates, too, with wide receiver Isiah Canion moving up to probable and running back Chauncey Bowens listed as questionable, but the overall picture leaves Georgia waiting to see how much of its roster will be ready when Ole Miss arrives. Georgia Heads To Ole Miss With Key Availability Questions

Georgias first availability report for the Ole Miss game offered an early look at just how much uncertainty still hangs over the Bulldogs heading into a major SEC trip. Wide receiver Isiah Canion was listed as probable, while running back Chauncey Bowens was among six Georgia players tagged questionable on a report that also included outside linebacker Amaris Williams as out.

There was at least some good news for Georgia with cornerback Ellis Robinson IV and running back Dwight Phillips Jr. not appearing on the list after both left the previous game. Ole Miss had its own lengthy injury picture to sort through, with nine players ruled out and several others still in question or trending toward availability, setting up a matchup where depth could matter as much as the top-line talent. Georgia Needs The Best Version Of Gunner Stockton Against Ole Miss

Gunner Stockton has already shown Georgia both sides of the quarterback equation, and that is what makes the next stretch so important. The Bulldogs have seen enough of his poise and playmaking to know he can steady an offense, but they have also seen the rough patches that come with a young quarterback still finding his rhythm. Against Ole Miss, the margin for error gets a lot smaller, and Georgia will need the cleaner, sharper version of Stockton to show up.

Kirby Smart has talked about Stocktons play and what the Bulldogs expect from him, and Stockton has addressed his own recent performances as the spotlight grows brighter. The challenge only gets tougher with Trinidad Chambliss on the other sideline, which raises the stakes for a game that could hinge on quarterback execution. For Georgia, this is less about asking Stockton to do everything and more about needing him to be the best version of himself when it matters most. [Read more 🡒]
