There’s plenty of reason for Georgia to feel good about its offensive line heading into 2026, even with a couple of major pieces gone.
The Bulldogs are bringing back proven starters in Drew Bobo and Earnest Greene, and that experience matters. Georgia also has young talent ready to push the group forward, with sophomores Dontrell Glover and Juan Gaston giving the line a chance to be better than it was a year ago. The one notable loss is left tackle Monroe Freeling, who went in the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft to the Carolina Panthers.
Even with two starters needing to be replaced, CBS Sports’ Blake Brockmeyer still put Georgia at No. 1 nationally on the offensive line entering 2026.
“The Bulldogs return a young, talented offensive line led by center Drew Bobo, who enters the season as my top center in the country,” Brockmeyer said. “Bobo has nearly 1,000 career snaps at center and is a dependable player who is rarely beaten,” Brockmeyer said.
“Dontrell Glover after logging more than 750 snaps as a true freshman starter and gives Georgia a physical mauler on the interior. I expect Glover to improve his consistency in pass protection.”
Bobo’s status is one of the biggest things to watch. He suffered a season-ending foot injury against Georgia Tech last November, needed surgery and did not practice with the team this spring.
Still, his importance to the line is obvious, and the expectation is that he may be able to open the season with little to no limitations. His foot will be a major talking point in Tampa, Florida, next week.
Georgia is also making a change at offensive line coach, though there’s some continuity there too. Phil Rauscher is the new coach, but he was with the program last season as an analyst. Stacy Searels remains with Georgia as well, moving into an analyst role this offseason.
The Bulldogs have another hole to fill at left guard after Micah Morris started every game there last season. Glover is expected to slide from right guard to left guard this fall.
At right guard, Zykie Helton got the start in Georgia’s spring game and wasted little time standing out. The freshman made a strong impression this spring and is viewed as a key part of the line.
Helton isn’t the only 2026 signee Georgia likes up front. Offensive tackle Ekene Ogboko was the Bulldogs’ highest-rated signee in the class and ranked No. 36 overall in the 247Sports Composite. With Greene having missed time in each of the last two seasons, the depth behind him at left tackle could end up being especially important.
And if Georgia wants this line to settle in while the passing game gets sorted out, the run game should help. The Bulldogs return their top four rushers from last season, giving them a chance to lean on the ground attack early in 2026.

Rivals slotted the five-star quarterback at No. 33 overall and No. 3 at his position in the 2028 class, a notable dip from where other major services have kept him.
The disagreement across the recruiting landscape matters because Georgia has already lived through the frustration of watching top quarterback pledges become harder to hold onto late in the process. Wade still has plenty of time before signing day, but with more than a year and a half left in the cycle, any shift in how he is viewed nationally is the kind of thing that tends to get attention in Athens. Georgia Fans Are Stuck Waiting On One Massive In-State DB Decision
Georgias 2027 defensive back board has been moving slowly, but at least there is one name already in the fold. Four-star safety Adryan Cole is committed to the class and remains the only DB pledge for now, which makes the next few weeks feel a little bigger than usual for a group that still needs more bodies and more certainty.
Seth Williams is the prospect to watch, and the timeline has already shifted once. The four-star safety had been set to decide on July 3 before pushing his announcement back to July 31, leaving Georgia in the mix as the process stretches on.
