Georgia Football Signals Big Shift as February Signing Period Begins

As the February signing period approaches, Georgia football appears content with its early haul-raising questions about whether any new names will be added.

Georgia Football's 2026 Signing Day: A Quiet February, But a Loaded Class Already in Athens

The traditional February signing period used to be a marquee moment on the college football calendar - hats on tables, big-time decisions made on live TV, and fanbases glued to every announcement. But for Georgia, and many other elite programs, the drama has shifted almost entirely to December. And this year is no different.

As the February window opens, don’t expect any fireworks from the Bulldogs. Kirby Smart and his staff already did their heavy lifting in December, pulling in a massive 28-player haul that ranks among the nation’s best. Simply put, Georgia’s class is already loaded, and the Dawgs are focused more on development and roster management than chasing late additions.

There is, however, one name still hanging in the balance: Chace Calicut, a cornerback from Houston who committed but didn’t sign in December. Calicut had a felony aggravated assault charge dismissed in early January, but it remains unclear whether he’ll eventually join the program - and if so, when that move might be made official.

Meanwhile, Georgia did make a quiet but notable addition in January, picking up Dallas Dickerson, a wide receiver from North Oconee who was previously committed to Kentucky. He’s already signed and is expected to be part of the program moving forward.

Final Thoughts

With no major moves expected in February, Georgia’s 2026 signing class is essentially locked in - and it’s a strong one. The Bulldogs have addressed needs across the board, from the trenches to the secondary, with a blend of high-upside talent and plug-and-play potential. There’s star power in five-star tackle Ekene Ogboko, depth in the defensive front, and versatility throughout the skill positions.

Kirby Smart and his staff continue to reload rather than rebuild. And if this class lives up to its billing, the Dawgs are well-positioned to stay in the thick of the national title hunt for years to come.
