Georgia comes out of its bye week looking for a reset, and the schedule hands the Bulldogs a heavyweight SEC rivalry game against No. 20 Florida.
This one still has the feel of a classic, but the setting will be different. Georgia and Florida have played in Jacksonville since 1995, yet Jacksonville’s stadium is undergoing renovations, forcing the teams to move the matchup.
This season, the game shifts to Atlanta. In 2027, it will be played in Tampa, before the series returns to Jacksonville in 2028.
The change has altered the usual rhythm of one of the league’s biggest rivalry games, even if it remains on neutral ground. The source of the disruption is temporary, but the decision has drawn its share of attention because both schools could have chosen to play one of those years on campus instead of relocating again. That would have been the first campus meeting in the series since 1995.
Instead, the rivalry stays in a neutral-site format for now.
Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. EST, the standard window for this game. Because it’s not a night matchup, the atmosphere may not get the same boost that comes with an evening kick, but the matchup still lands in a familiar spot on the calendar.
Fans can watch the game on ABC, with streaming also available through the ESPN app and Fubo TV.
On the betting side, Georgia enters as a 10.5-point favorite according to the DraftKings Sportsbook, with the over-under sitting at 56.5 points. ESPN’s matchup predictor gives Georgia an 82.1 percent chance to win.
That confidence fits the post-bye outlook for Georgia, especially after last week’s upset loss to Auburn. Florida, though, brings plenty of uncertainty.
The Gators own wins over Ole Miss and Texas, but they also have losses to South Carolina and Missouri, making them one of the most volatile teams in the SEC. Depending on which version shows up, Florida could look like one of the best teams in the country or one of the worst.
Either way, Georgia should expect a fight, and the line suggests oddsmakers believe the Bulldogs are positioned to respond with the kind of win they need.

Georgia Fans Have A New Reason To Worry About Glenn Schumann
The opening at NC State has put an unwelcome new name on Georgia fans radar: Glenn Schumann. ESPN recently listed the Bulldogs defensive coordinator as a potential candidate for the Wolfpack job after Dave Doerens firing, a reminder that Schumanns profile keeps rising as he prepares for another Georgia season. He has been in Athens since 2016, moving from inside linebackers coach to defensive coordinator, and he has been part of six national championship teams along the way.
For Georgia, the appeal is obvious and so is the concern. Schumann has become one of the more respected defensive minds in the sport, and while he is still focused on the Bulldogs right now, the possibility of a head-coaching move is getting harder to ignore. Whether this particular job becomes a real threat or just another line on a growing list of opportunities, it is the kind of development that can have fans watching the staff carousel a little more closely than they would like. Georgia Fans Just Got A Reassuring Sign About Elite QB Commit
Jayden Wades trip to Michigan over the weekend gave Georgia fans something to watch closely, even if the five-star quarterback remains committed to the Bulldogs in the 2028 class. Wade made the visit to see the Wolverines take on Indiana, and the setting offered a useful snapshot of a program trying to sell itself to one of the nations top young passers while Georgia continues to hold the early pledge.
Michigans recent quarterback play and broader team struggles have made the pitch a tougher one than it might have looked a year ago. The Wolverines have built a reputation for flipping recruits in the past, but this season could make that harder, and for Georgia the timing at least offers a reassuring backdrop as it tries to keep Wade in the fold. Georgia Is In But The SEC Bubble Just Got Much Tighter
After Week 7 and Week 8, the College Football Playoff picture has Georgia still sitting safely in the field, but the room for error around the SEC has gotten a lot smaller. ESPN analyst Heather Dinichs latest projection has Kentucky, Texas, Ole Miss and Georgia all claiming at-large spots, which says plenty about how strong the leagues top tier looks right now and how little separation there is among the contenders chasing the bracket.
LSU is the one on the outside looking in despite being ranked 12th in the projection, a reminder that the Tigers are still fighting a tougher path through the pecking order. A bye week gives LSU a chance to reset before a stretch that includes ranked opponents, headlined by a crucial trip to Alabama, and those games could reshape the SEC math quickly for everyone watching from Athens.
