Georgia will have to sit tight a little longer before it learns the exact kickoff time and TV home for its Week 5 matchup with Vanderbilt.
The game is set to land in one of two windows: noon ET or 12:45 p.m. If the Bulldogs and Commodores kick at noon, ESPN or ABC will carry the broadcast.
If the start time ends up at 12:45 p.m., the SEC Network gets the assignment. A final call is expected after this weekend’s games are in the books.
The matchup brings back a series that hasn’t been played since 2023, when Georgia won 37-20. The last time Vanderbilt came to Athens, the Bulldogs rolled to a 55-0 win in 2022.
A lot of the attention around this one will naturally go to Vanderbilt quarterback Jared Curtis, whose recruiting path wound through Georgia before he landed with the Commodores. Curtis committed to the Bulldogs twice during his recruiting process, then flipped to Vanderbilt just before the early signing period last December. The Nashville native chose the chance to play early, and Georgia eventually addressed its quarterback room by adding Bryson Beaver out of the transfer portal.
Beaver has not seen game action this season, but he made his first career start this past weekend against NC State. He finished with 277 passing yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions.
Vanderbilt, meanwhile, is riding a wild one into its road trip to Auburn. The Commodores beat NC State 35-31 after recovering a fumble in the end zone with one second left.
Georgia’s offense has been humming behind Gunner Stockton, who has opened the season looking almost untouchable. Through the Bulldogs’ first three games, he has thrown nine touchdown passes and has more scores through the air than incompletions. He also turned in a career-best rushing performance against Arkansas, piling up 97 yards on the ground.
“He’s a weapon, because a lot of those are drop-back passes that become explosive plays on any time your quarterback can take off and run,” Georgia coach Kirby Smart said of Stockton. “It’s a value too, and he’s made really good decisions so far on when to run and when not to run, and also when to get down and when to take a hit.”
Before Vanderbilt arrives, Georgia still has Oklahoma on deck. The Sooners are 2-1 after a road loss at Michigan earlier this season, and their matchup with Georgia is scheduled for a 3:30 p.m. kickoff on Saturday.
