Georgia’s bet on Jayden Wade is looking better by the week.
Kirby Smart pushed hard to land the five-star quarterback, and that early full-court press paid off when Wade committed to Georgia last year. Now, as Wade works through his first high school season since that decision, he’s already giving Georgia fans another reason to feel good about the future.
Wade opened his junior year with a lopsided 59-3 win and was at the center of everything his offense did well. Benjamin Wolk of 247sports.com wrote, “Wade kicked off his junior season with a dominant 59-3 victory during which he was the driving force behind the standout offensive output,” Benjamin Wolk said via 247sports.com.
“Wade completed 14-of-20 passes for 214 yards. He tossed two touchdown passes, including the strike to Alabama commit Osani Gayles shown below.
Wade also found a touchdown with his legs, punching in a touchdown run on the ground too.”

The numbers tell the story just fine: 14 completions on 20 attempts, 214 passing yards, two passing scores and a rushing touchdown in a game that turned into a blowout.
Wade is part of the 2028 recruiting class, which means Georgia locked him in when he was still very early in his high school career. Wade has said Georgia started recruiting him earlier than other schools, and that head start clearly mattered in his decision.
The challenge for Georgia now is keeping him in the fold. Wade can’t sign until December of 2027, so there’s a long road ahead and plenty of time for other schools to try to change his mind. Georgia has held onto him so far, but that stretch is still ahead.
For now, the Bulldogs have the No. 1 quarterback in the country committed, and performances like this one only add to the buzz around what he could become in Athens.
