SEC hoops delivered another rollercoaster week, dodging stormy weather and delivering plenty of drama on the court. With several key matchups shaking up the standings, the latest SEC power rankings paint a picture of a conference in the thick of its most competitive stretch yet.
Here’s how the teams stack up this week in the SEC poll:
- Florida (7 first-place votes)
- Arkansas (2)
- Vanderbilt (2)
- Texas A&M (1)
- Alabama
- Tennessee
- Kentucky
- Georgia
- Auburn
- Texas
- Missouri
- Ole Miss

- South Carolina
T-15. Oklahoma
T-15. Mississippi State
Florida Holds Strong, But Not Without a Stumble
Florida remains atop the rankings, but it wasn’t a flawless week for the Gators. They opened strong with a convincing 79-61 win over LSU, showing off their depth and offensive rhythm.
But Saturday’s 76-67 loss to Auburn reminded everyone that no top spot in the SEC comes without a fight. Despite the setback, Florida’s overall body of work still earned them the majority of first-place votes.
Arkansas and Texas A&M Surge
The biggest movers this week? Arkansas and Texas A&M - and for good reason.
Arkansas looked dominant in their 93-68 dismantling of Vanderbilt, then followed it up with a gritty 85-81 win over LSU. They’re playing with confidence and cohesion, and that’s reflected in their climb to No. 2 in the poll.
Texas A&M also made a statement. The Aggies rolled past Mississippi State 88-68, then crushed South Carolina 92-69. That’s two blowout wins in one week - and enough to earn them a first-place vote and a jump into the top four.
Tennessee and Texas Trending Up
Tennessee’s 79-73 win over Alabama was a tone-setter. The Vols played with toughness and poise, and it paid off with a bump in the rankings. Texas, meanwhile, took care of business with a dominant 87-67 win over Georgia, helping them inch up as well.
Georgia Slides After Rough Road Trip
No team took a bigger hit this week than Georgia. The Bulldogs barely scraped by Missouri with a 74-72 win, then got run off the floor by Texas in a 20-point loss. That one-two punch dropped them four spots in the rankings - the steepest fall of any SEC team this week.
Alabama Also Drops After Tight Loss
Alabama dropped two spots after falling to Tennessee in a hard-fought 79-73 battle. It wasn’t a bad loss by any means, but in a week where other teams made big moves, it was enough to send the Tide slipping slightly in the poll.
Vanderbilt, Kentucky, Missouri, and Oklahoma Each Dip Slightly
All four of these programs dropped one spot, the result of either a tough loss or others around them making stronger statements. Vanderbilt in particular took a hit after a blowout loss to Arkansas, while Kentucky, Missouri, and Oklahoma had mixed results that didn’t quite help their cases.
