Georgia’s 2027 class could get a much-needed jolt on Saturday, and the Bulldogs are trending in the right direction for one of the biggest pieces on their board.
Right now, Georgia sits at No. 16 in the country in the 2027 recruiting rankings, and the biggest hole is easy to spot: the class has no defensive back commits. That’s a glaring issue for a program that usually stacks up five or six defensive backs in a cycle, and it’s part of why the Bulldogs have been scrambling to steady the class after losing two top 100 defensive backs to flips and watching other DB targets head elsewhere.
The good news for Georgia is that help may be on the way. On Friday, the Bulldogs were predicted to land four-star safety Adryan Cole, and his decision is coming fast. Cole plans to announce his commitment on Saturday, June 18, at 4:30 pm EST.
Cole is no small target. The 247Sports Composite has him ranked as the No. 166 player in the country, the No. 12 safety in the 2027 class and the No. 15 player in Georgia. His final four includes Georgia, Florida, LSU and Ole Miss, giving the Bulldogs a battle against three other SEC programs.
The projections currently lean heavily toward Georgia. There is one prediction on 247Sports in favor of the Bulldogs, and On3 gives Georgia a 93 percent chance to land him.
Nothing is locked in yet, but the fit is obvious from Georgia’s side. Cole would instantly become one of the top names in the class, ranking as the Bulldogs’ sixth-highest commit, and more importantly, he would be their first defensive back pledge.
That matters even more because Georgia’s class is light on elite in-state talent, too. The Bulldogs currently have just two top 20 players from Georgia committed, so adding Cole would help on that front as well.
By Saturday, Georgia fans will know whether the Bulldogs can turn all of that momentum into a commitment. If they miss, it would be a brutal blow. If they land him, it would be a major step toward fixing a class that badly needs it.

The bigger issue is not whether the Bulldogs have bodies, but how quickly the group can settle into the right combination. Bobos recovery from last seasons foot injury remains a central concern, and Georgia has already had to start sorting through replacements and new roles up front. With Glover among the players expected to take on more responsibility and the staff adjusting to Rauschers voice in the room, the line has plenty of upside, but one of its most important answers is still waiting to be found.
