ESPN Snub Of Stetson Bennett Sparks Georgia Outrage

Amid ESPN's critique, Georgia fans rally behind Stetson Bennett, drawing parallels to legendary NFL underdog stories.

Stetson Bennett is patiently waiting in Los Angeles for his moment to shine in the NFL. While he hasn't yet taken a meaningful snap in a regular season game, that doesn't mean he's not ready to lead an NFL offense.

With one year left on his contract with the Rams, Bennett is set to back up Matthew Stafford once again. Georgia fans know the value of having a backup like Bennett, but ESPN has labeled him as the Rams' biggest concern heading into the season.

Bill Barnwell from ESPN pointed out, “The only position that would really scare me right now if I were the Rams is at quarterback, which is odd given that the reigning league MVP will be returning in 2026.”

This skepticism towards Bennett frustrates Georgia fans, who remember his standout performances during last year’s NFL preseason. Although preseason isn't the regular season, it does offer a glimpse into a player's potential. Many players have spent years on the bench before proving themselves as top-tier talents, and Bennett could very well be the next to do so.

Take Tom Brady, for example. He started his career on the bench before becoming one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time. While no one is expecting Bennett to replicate Brady's career, he certainly deserves a fair shot.

The good news? Bennett will eventually get his chance to start in the regular season, and when he does, he’ll have the opportunity to change the narrative and prove the skeptics wrong.
