FSU's QB Loss Could End Norvell's Tenure

In a decisive move, four-star quarterback Braylen Warren commits to Missouri, drawing attention with his impressive play and halting his recruitment journey.

Braylen Warren has taken Nebraska’s attention and turned it into a question mark.

The Omaha Westside quarterback, a 2027 four-star and the son of former Nebraska defensive tackle Steve Warren, has now shut down his recruitment and firmly committed to Missouri after a stretch that only made his profile louder. Warren told On3’s Hayes Fawcett that he’s ending the process, coming off a run that included a big showing in Nebraska’s biggest high school game of the season and fresh interest from Penn State.

Missouri head coach Eli Drinkwitz was in Omaha to watch Warren face Nebraska quarterback commit Trae Taylor, and Warren backed it up with another strong outing in Westside’s win over Millard South, a program that has been one of the state’s biggest forces over the last few seasons. Warren had already committed to Missouri on December 4, 2025, becoming the Tigers’ first pledge in the 2027 class, and now he’s made it clear he’s staying put.

The numbers have done plenty of talking for him. Warren is listed at 6-foot-1 and 203 pounds and is ranked No. 219 overall in the 2027 class, No. 17 among quarterbacks and No. 3 in Nebraska in the latest Rivals Industry Rankings.

His recruitment drew a long list of suitors, with nearly 20 offers that included Arkansas, California, Cincinnati, Florida State, Illinois, Iowa, Iowa State, Kansas, Kansas State, Michigan State, Oklahoma State, South Florida, Toledo, Virginia, Virginia Tech and Wisconsin, among others. Penn State was the latest to jump in when head coach Matt Campbell came to Omaha and offered Warren on October 21, 2026.

After a lot of thought and consideration, I’ve decided to shut down my recruitment and fully focus on my commitment to the University of Missouri. I’m grateful for every coach, program, and opportunity that has been part of this journey, and I’m excited for what’s ahead at…

Warren’s production has matched the buzz. As a junior in 2025, he completed 125 of 202 passes for 1,847 yards, 27 touchdowns and six interceptions while finishing at 61.9 percent. He also ran 68 times for 288 yards and three scores, piling up 2,135 total yards and 30 total touchdowns as Westside went 10-2 and reached the Nebraska Class A state semifinals.

He was even more efficient as a sophomore in 2024, when he completed 67.1 percent of his throws for 2,105 yards, 30 touchdowns and eight interceptions, while adding 175 rushing yards and two touchdowns.

This season has kept the momentum going. Through Westside’s undefeated 2026 regular season, Warren has thrown for 1,773 yards and 23 touchdowns with only two interceptions, while also rushing for more than 550 yards and five scores.

Through the first eight games, he had gone 86 of 135 for 1,522 yards, 19 touchdowns and two picks, and he added 493 rushing yards and four touchdowns. Then came his biggest night yet: in Westside’s 41-17 win over previously unbeaten Millard South on October 23, Warren completed 11 of 24 passes for 253 yards and four touchdowns, and he rushed 15 times for 66 yards and another score.

What makes the whole thing stand out even more is that Nebraska never gave him an official offer. Matt Rhule and his staff moved quickly for Taylor and landed their top target early, leaving Warren in Missouri’s corner while the Huskers watched one of the state’s most productive quarterbacks keep stacking up numbers.

Florida State Clemson Week Just Got Bigger Than The Game

Florida States Halloween home date with Clemson is shaping up to be more than just a rivalry game. The school is planning themed events around the matchup, including a drone show and a Trunk or Treat, giving the night a little extra pageantry before the Seminoles even take the field. On top of the holiday atmosphere, the program will also honor Peter Warrick with an NFF College Football Hall of Fame On-Campus Salute during the game, adding a nod to one of the programs most recognizable former stars.

The bigger off-field storyline, though, may be what comes next for the athletic department. Florida State president Richard McCullough said the search for a new athletic director will begin soon, an important step as the school looks to steady its leadership picture while the football program keeps moving through a pivotal stretch. With Clemson coming to town on a night packed with events and recognition, it is the kind of weekend that blends celebration, tradition and a little uncertainty in Tallahassee. [Read more 🡒]

Florida State Fans Just Turned On Mike Norvell In Public

Frustration around Florida States football program has spilled beyond social media and into a public campaign aimed directly at Mike Norvell. Ahead of the upcoming game against Clemson, fans have started a GoFundMe to hire an aircraft to fly a banner over campus reading FIRE MIKE NORVELL, a stark sign of how quickly patience has worn thin as the Seminoles have struggled under the current regime.

The move also speaks to a broader sense that university leadership has not done enough to answer the programs slide, even with Norvells contract extension and buyout factors in the background. Whether the banner ever flies or not, the message is clear: a vocal segment of the fan base wants a much faster response to the on-field problems, and they are now making sure everyone inside and outside the stadium knows it. FSU Line Faces A Brutal Test With Ashton Daniels At Risk

Florida States offensive line has become the obvious pressure point as the Seminoles head into a matchup that will ask a lot more of Ashton Daniels than simply extending plays with his legs. Coach Hand has been clear that the group has to do a better job in pass protection if Daniels is going to work from a cleaner pocket, and the stakes are easy to see. Daniels has been one of Florida States most dangerous threats with 354 rushing yards and 11 touchdowns, but the protection issues have also helped contribute to eight interceptions under pressure.

Clemson is hardly the kind of defense that lets an offensive line ease into anything. The Tigers have piled up 20 sacks this season and have recently been smothering opponents on the ground, holding them to low rushing totals and keeping them out of the end zone. For Florida State, the challenge is bigger than just surviving a pass rush, because Daniels best traits and the Seminoles overall rhythm may depend on whether the pocket holds long enough for the offense to function the way it wants to.
