Football season is already starting to take shape for Florida State’s future quarterback.
Three-star Logan Flaherty, the Seminoles’ quarterback commit in the 2027 class, wasted no time showing what he can do in his senior opener. On Friday night, he powered Port Charlotte to a 62-26 win over Cape Coral High School, and he did it without his top two wide receivers - including four-star Elias Pearl.
That missing firepower didn’t slow him down. Flaherty took over with his legs, piling up 242 rushing yards and scoring four touchdowns in a performance that gave Port Charlotte a huge boost offensively. Two of the biggest moments came in the second half of the first half and the closing minutes, when he broke free for a 65-yard touchdown and later added a 37-yard scramble in the final frame.

It was hardly a one-off. Just a week earlier, Flaherty accounted for five total touchdowns in Port Charlotte’s jamboree, giving him back-to-back eye-catching outings to open the fall.
The season is still young, but Flaherty is already building a case for a big senior year. As a junior, he helped Port Charlotte reach the state semifinals while completing 178 of 293 passes for 2,636 yards, 27 touchdowns and seven interceptions. He also ran for 595 yards and 11 scores.
At 6-foot-2 and 195 pounds, Flaherty is ranked by the 247Sports Composite as the No. 801 overall prospect, the No. 39 quarterback and the No. 69 player in Florida in the 2027 class.
Florida State currently has 17 verbal commitments in #Tribe27, a group that sits at No. 35 nationally.

Xavier Chaplin arrives through the transfer portal as the kind of experienced left tackle the Seminoles needed while rebuilding their offensive line for the 2026 season, bringing a long track record of durability after starting 37 consecutive games at Auburn and Virginia Tech.
For a unit that has spent the offseason searching for stability, Chaplin is expected to anchor the left side and help set the tone for the rest of the front. Florida State Brings Back A Fan Favorite Way To Follow Norvell
Florida State is bringing back a familiar window into Mike Norvells program next fall, with the university announcing the return of Inside Seminole Football for 2026. The 10-episode series will feature Norvell alongside Voice of the Seminoles Jeff Culhane and is set to air beginning Aug. 24, giving fans a regular look at the rhythm of the season from the new Dunlap Football Center.
The show will be spread across the Seminoles Unconquered app, social media and local TV stations, keeping it easy to follow wherever fans already are. Each episode is slated to include recaps, previews and special guests from the coaching staff, which should make the series a useful weekly touchpoint as the Seminoles move through another year under Norvell.
