Florida State is putting a new name on its jerseys, and it’s a big one for the athletic department’s growing sponsorship push.
The school announced Friday that Kin Insurance will become a jersey patch sponsor across football and 17 other Florida State programs in a four-year agreement. The Kin logo will first appear when FSU football faces SMU on September 7, then roll out across the rest of the athletic department beginning with the 2026-27 season.
Kin is the first brand to appear as a jersey patch across Florida State’s uniforms and will serve as the preferred insurance partner of Florida State University Athletics.
“Kin’s Florida roots and commitment to serving people across the state make this a natural partnership for Florida State,” Michael Alford, vice president and director of athletics at Florida State University, said in a statement. “Our organizations share a belief in meeting challenges with strength, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to the communities we serve. Kin’s investment will help us continue creating meaningful opportunities for our student-athletes, while supporting the competitive excellence and proud tradition of Florida State Athletics.”
The patch will be worn by 18 varsity programs in all: football; women’s basketball; men’s and women’s cross country; women’s soccer; women’s volleyball; men’s and women’s swimming and diving; men’s and women’s indoor and outdoor track and field; baseball; beach volleyball; women’s lacrosse; softball; men’s and women’s golf; and men’s and women’s tennis.
The release framed the partnership around Florida and the people who live there, tying FSU’s role in developing talent with Kin’s work helping homeowners protect their property. Kin said Floridians currently trust it with nearly $100 billion worth of homes and cars, and noted that it operates in 14 states.
Florida has been part of Kin’s business since 2017, when the company began offering home insurance in the state. The release said Florida remains Kin’s largest market.

The university said the partnership also brings resources that will benefit student-athletes and communities across Florida.
Exact financial terms were not disclosed.
The deal is the latest in a run of sponsorship announcements around Florida State in recent weeks. FSU men’s basketball has already reached a separate agreement with ReliaQuest, and Progressive has signed on to sponsor the FSU-Miami rivalry while also placing its logo on Bobby Bowden Field at Doak Campbell Stadium.
