Back in Garnet and Gold: Nehemiah Chandler Returns to FSU with a Mission
After a year away at South Alabama, defensive back Nehemiah Chandler is back in Tallahassee-and he couldn’t be happier about it. For Chandler, this wasn’t just a transfer; it was a homecoming. A lifelong Florida State fan, the Jacksonville native didn’t hesitate when the opportunity to return to FSU presented itself.
“It was really just a dream come true,” Chandler said. “As soon as they jumped in the hot seat, I was like, ‘Just shut it down.’
That’s where I want to be. I felt at home.”
That kind of passion matters-especially at a program with a proud defensive back legacy. Chandler’s return comes with a clear goal: help bring back the swagger to “DBU.”
Growing up, he looked up to Jalen Ramsey, whose early NFL dominance with the Jaguars left a lasting impression. Now, Chandler wants to follow in those footsteps and be part of the next wave of elite Seminole defensive backs.
Welcome Back, Gabe Fertitta
There’s more good news in Tallahassee. Gabe Fertitta is back with the program, bringing his coaching acumen and familiarity with the Seminoles’ culture. His return adds another experienced voice to the room as FSU continues to build momentum across the board.
Top 2027 DL John Archer Eyes a Visit to Florida State
Keep an eye on John Archer. The Top-100 defensive lineman from the 2027 class has Florida State on his radar, and that’s no small thing.
Archer doesn’t hand out visits like candy-each one matters. That makes his interest in FSU especially notable.
With spring visits on the horizon, it’ll be worth watching where Archer decides to spend his time before official visits begin.
2028 QB Brady Quinn Includes Florida State in His Top Six
Another name to know for the future: 2028 quarterback Brady Quinn. He’s trimmed his list to six programs, and Florida State made the cut. It’s early, but landing in that top group puts the Seminoles in a strong position as they look to secure their quarterback of the future.
FSU Hoops Heating Up at the Right Time
Florida State men’s basketball is finding its groove. Winners of three straight in ACC play-and four of their last five-the Seminoles are surging into a pivotal matchup against No. 15 Virginia tonight at 7 p.m.
What’s driving the turnaround? Defense and threes.
“D and 3” has become the team’s new identity, and it’s paying off. They’re locking down on the defensive end and hitting timely shots from deep-exactly the formula you need to climb the ACC standings.
Baseball is Back in Tallahassee
It’s opening week for FSU Baseball, and the 12th-ranked Seminoles are ready to get rolling. They’ll host James Madison on Friday night, with first pitch now set for 6 p.m. instead of the originally scheduled 5 p.m. Expect the stands at Dick Howser Stadium to be buzzing as Team 43 takes the field.
The momentum is already building. After a dominant 5-0 weekend in which they outscored opponents 36-7, the 7th-ranked Seminoles are back in action tonight against No.
23 Liberty. A win would push them to 6-0 on the young season-an early statement from a team with big aspirations.
Women’s Hoops Looks to Stay Hot at Home
Florida State women’s basketball returns to home court Thursday to face Boston College. The Seminoles are coming off an 87-point performance against Miami-the highest total in an ACC win this season.
That same number showed up earlier this year in a narrow four-point loss to Virginia. Clearly, when this team gets rolling offensively, they’re tough to stop.
Pro Noles Update: Super Bowl Rings and New Chapters
- Cam Akers has added a second Super Bowl ring to his collection, continuing to build a postseason résumé that speaks for itself.
- Jameis Winston is keeping busy-on the field and off it. The FSU Hall of Famer and former Heisman winner might just be the newest face of Carl’s Jr. in addition to his NFL career.
- Shane Drohan is on the move. The left-handed pitcher is headed to the Milwaukee farm system, where he’ll look to carve out his next opportunity at the pro level.
From rising stars to returning favorites, Florida State athletics is buzzing across the board. Whether it's the hardwood, the diamond, or the recruiting trail, the Seminoles are making noise-and it’s only February.
