Florida State’s offensive line is heading into a full-blown rebuild-and the clock is already ticking.
With all five starters from last season out of eligibility, the Seminoles are staring down a complete reset in the trenches. That’s not just a challenge-it’s a defining moment for the program’s 2026 recruiting class.
The cupboard isn’t completely bare, but what’s left is largely untested. That makes this offseason critical for Mike Norvell and his staff as they look to restock the line with talent from the high school ranks, junior college, and the always-busy transfer portal.
The latest addition to that effort is Garden City Community College offensive lineman Steven Moore, who committed to Florida State on Tuesday evening. Moore, a 6-foot-5, 310-pound sophomore, chose the Seminoles over offers from Oklahoma State, Arkansas State, Fresno State, and Charlotte, among others. His recruitment moved quickly-FSU offered him earlier in the day, and he didn’t wait long to shut things down.
Moore brings two years of starting experience at left guard, and he’ll arrive in Tallahassee with two years of eligibility remaining. Originally from Tennessee, he’s rated as the No. 102 overall JUCO prospect, the No.
16 JUCO offensive tackle, and the No. 22 overall JUCO recruit in Tennessee, per the 247Sports composite rankings for the 2026 class. While he played guard at Garden City, his size and versatility could allow the Seminoles to move him around depending on how the rest of the line shapes up.
His commitment gives Florida State 29 verbal pledges in its 2026 class, which currently ranks No. 13 nationally. That class already features a strong mix of offensive line prospects, including fellow three-stars Michael Ionata, Jakobe Green, Luke Francis, and Steven Pickard Jr. Moore adds another experienced body to that group-someone who’s already been through the grind of college football and can potentially step in and compete right away.
But this class isn’t just about the offensive line. It’s a deep and well-balanced group across the board.
On offense, four-star quarterback Jaden O'Neal headlines a skill-position haul that includes four-star running back Amari Thomas, four-star tight end Xavier Tiller, and a loaded wide receiver room featuring four-stars Devin Carter, Efrem White, Brandon Bennett, Jasen Lopez, and Darryon Williams. Three-star wideout Jonah Winston rounds out the group.
Defensively, the Seminoles have also been active. Up front, they’ve secured commitments from four-star defensive lineman Earnest Rankins and a trio of three-stars: Wihtlley Cadeau, Judah Daniels, and Franklin Whitley.
The edge group includes JUCO transfer Jalen Anderson and fellow three-stars Chris Carbin and Damaad Lewis. At linebacker, four-star Izayia Williams leads a group that includes Karon Maycock, Noah LaVallee, and Daylen Green.
And on the back end? Five-star defensive back Chauncey Kennon is the crown jewel of the secondary, joined by four-star Darryl Bell III and three-star Jordan Crutchfield.
It’s clear Florida State is building this class with both immediate needs and long-term development in mind. The offensive line, in particular, is under the microscope-and rightfully so.
With a completely new starting five to assemble, every addition matters. Steven Moore might not be the flashiest name in the class, but his experience and physical tools could make him one of the most important.
The Early Signing Period is just around the corner, and the Seminoles are positioning themselves to not just reload-but to reassert their presence in the trenches.
