FSU Basketball Stuns Clemson With Another Upset Victory

Luke Loucks and FSU basketball make a powerful statement with a thrilling upset over Clemson, showcasing their growing momentum and potential for the postseason.

Florida State basketball is making waves and proving skeptics wrong. After a surprising win over Virginia Tech, FSU (14-13, 7-7 ACC) continued their impressive run by defeating Clemson (20-8, 10-5 ACC) as +8.5 underdogs. Over the past 10 games, the Seminoles have gone 7-3, with their losses being nail-biters.

Key to their recent success has been a series of strategic adjustments. Against Clemson, FSU showcased their shooting prowess, hitting 42% from beyond the arc (10 of 24). They kept turnovers to a minimum with just 10, and were nearly flawless from the free-throw line, sinking 14 of 16 (88%).

Offensively, FSU was firing on all cylinders, shooting 50% from the field while holding Clemson to 38%. The Seminoles dominated in points off turnovers, points in the paint, and fast break points. Although Clemson had a slight edge in offensive rebounds, FSU matched them overall on the boards and added six steals and five blocks to their defensive efforts.

Robert McCray was a standout performer, leading with 29 points and six rebounds. Lajae Jones contributed 13 points, two rebounds, and three blocks, with eight Seminoles scoring in total.

Looking ahead, FSU needs to win the ACC Tournament to secure a spot in the NCAA Tournament. However, with four games left in the regular season, finishing strong could earn them a first-round bye.

If they maintain this level of play, they’ll be a formidable challenge for any opponent in the conference. The Seminoles are riding high on confidence and showing they’re ready to make some noise.
