A handful of Florida State transfers wasted no time getting on the field in their new places during the opening weekend of 2026, with a few already carving out roles right away.
At quarterback, Tommy Castellanos barely got into the action for Texas Tech in a 33-10 win over Abilene Christian, taking one snap according to Pro Football Focus. At Western Kentucky, Glenn saw four snaps in a 49-14 loss at Nevada and finished with one rush for zero yards.
The biggest quarterback workload belonged to King at Mercer, where he opened the season as the starter in a 23-15 win over East Texas A&M on August 29th. King went 17-of-30 for 189 passing yards and a touchdown, while adding 11 carries for 34 yards.
He followed that up in Mercer’s 62-3 win over Presbyterian on Saturday, going 12-of-15 for 236 passing yards and four passing touchdowns. He also ran eight times for 48 yards and scored twice.
On the defensive side, Earl Little Jr. started for Ohio State in a 56-3 win over Ball State. He played 30 defensive snaps and recorded four tackles, including one solo stop. Pro Football Focus credited him with allowing just 10 yards on two catches while he was targeted three times.
At Ole Miss, Joseph was in the starting lineup and logged 65 defensive snaps in a 41-38 win over Louisville in Nashville, Tenn. on Sunday evening. He finished with three tackles, including one solo tackle, but Pro Football Focus also charged him with five missed tackles. In coverage, he allowed four receptions on five targets for 71 yards, including 42 yards after the catch, and a touchdown.
