Florida State Signs Massive JUCO Lineman After Sudden Commitment Flip

Florida State adds key junior college lineman Steven Moore to bolster a thinning offensive front heading into 2026.

Florida State just landed a big piece for its offensive line future - literally and figuratively.

One day after flipping his commitment from Arkansas State, 6-foot-5, 320-pound JUCO offensive lineman Steven Moore has officially signed with the Seminoles. The Garden City Community College product (originally from Bartlett, Tennessee) brings size, versatility, and momentum to a Florida State program looking to reload up front.

Moore’s recruitment picked up serious steam in recent weeks. Rated the No. 96 overall JUCO player in the country by 247Sports Composite - and the No. 14 offensive tackle - Moore saw his stock rise almost overnight.

His rating jumped from an 82 to an 85 after word got out that he was on an official visit to Tallahassee. That visit clearly made an impression.

Originally committed to Arkansas State on November 25, Moore decommitted shortly after his trip to FSU and pivoted to Mike Norvell’s program. Florida State beat out late interest from Oklahoma State, where new head coach Eric Morris was making a push, and Moore had already drawn offers from 22 different schools, including East Carolina, Western Kentucky, Charlotte, and Fresno State, all of which hosted him for official visits.

While Moore has primarily played at both guard spots throughout his JUCO career, Florida State is bringing him in as an offensive tackle - a move that reflects both his physical tools and FSU’s current needs. The Seminoles are set to lose a big chunk of experience on the offensive line due to graduation, and Moore could be asked to step in sooner rather than later.

According to his official FSU bio, Moore is a three-star prospect, ranked as the No. 58 JUCO player nationally and the No. 10 offensive tackle by 247Sports. He was also named a JCGridiron Preseason All-American ahead of the 2025 season.

This is more than just a depth signing. Moore’s combination of size, experience, and upward trajectory makes him one of the more intriguing additions to Florida State’s 2025 class. If he can make a smooth transition to tackle and adjust quickly to the speed of the Power Five level, he could find himself in the mix for playing time early.

For a program that’s made a habit of rebuilding the trenches through the portal and JUCO ranks, Moore fits the mold - a high-upside, battle-tested lineman who’s ready for the next step.
