Florida State is set to kick off preseason camp on Wednesday, July 29, beginning the long runway to its 2026 season opener against New Mexico State on Saturday, August 29 at 7 p.m. at home on The CW Network.
The Seminoles’ early camp calendar includes a mix of closed practices, select media windows and regular coach and player availability. FSU will allow a brief media viewing along with photo and video access around practices on July 31 and August 13. Outside of those dates, practices will be closed to the media, though coaches and players will still be available after most sessions.
A notable wrinkle in the schedule comes in early August, when Florida State takes practice to the University of North Florida campus in Jacksonville from August 6 through August 8. All three practices there will be closed to the media, but in-person media availability will follow the first two days.
The first week of camp is packed with a steady rotation of position coaches and players. Mike Norvell and student-athlete availability open things on July 29, followed by Chris Thomsen and student-athlete availability on July 30. July 31 brings the photo and video opportunity, along with Norvell and players.
After an off day on August 1, the schedule resumes with Evan Cooper and Terrance Knighton on August 2, then Kam Martin and Austin Tucker on August 3. August 4 is a scrimmage day with Norvell available virtually, and August 5 features Tim Harris Jr. and Tony White.
The Jacksonville stretch begins on August 6 with Blue Adams and student-athlete availability, then continues on August 7 with Norvell and players. August 8 has no availability, and August 9 is another scrimmage day with Norvell available virtually. August 10 is also listed as a no-availability day.
The middle of camp keeps moving with Nick Williams and student-athlete availability on August 11, Norvell and players on August 12, and the second photo and video window on August 13 with Adam Scheier and student-athlete availability. No availability follows on August 14.
From there, the schedule continues with Tim Harris Jr. and Tony White on August 15, no availability on August 16, Norvell and student-athlete availability on August 17, Ernie Sims and student-athlete availability on August 18, and Herb Hand and student-athlete availability on August 19. Norvell returns on August 20, while August 21, 22 and 23 are all listed as no-availability days.
Camp then shifts into game week mode. Norvell will hold a game week press conference on August 24, followed by post-practice availability on August 25 and August 26. August 27 and August 28 are both no-availability days before Florida State hosts New Mexico State on August 29.
Following the opener, Norvell and student-athlete availability are scheduled for the post-game period, with no availability on August 30. Tim Harris Jr. and Tony White are set to meet with the media on August 31, and Norvell’s next game week press conference is scheduled for September 1.
