Florida State’s new-look staff is already making noise on the recruiting trail, and the latest target to land on the Seminoles’ board is one of the more intriguing pass-rushers in the 2028 class.
The school recently offered four-star defensive end Jeremiah Figaro, a prospect who publicly acknowledged the scholarship by tagging EDGE coach Nick Williams, head coach Mike Norvell, defensive coordinator Tony White and graduate assistant Jaleel McRae in his social media post. Figaro is a member of the 2028 class, though his path there comes with a twist: he transferred from Malden Catholic High School to Dexter Southfield School a few months ago and reclassified from the 2027 class to the 2028 class.
That kind of move is the opposite of what usually happens in recruiting, where prospects often jump ahead a year. Figaro went the other direction, and the decision has not slowed his momentum. Since February, he has picked up more than 20 offers, with Notre Dame, Texas Tech, Tennessee, Ole Miss and Kentucky all entering the mix.
Florida State’s interest fits the direction of the program under Williams, who arrived in Tallahassee from Syracuse and has quickly become one of the staff’s most active recruiters. The Seminoles have already landed four-star defensive end Anthony Cavallaro and three-star defensive end Jaxon Holly, two of their top targets in #Tribe27.
For Figaro, the next move for Florida State is simple: get him on campus.
At 6-foot-4 and 205 pounds, Figaro is listed by the 247Sports Composite Ratings as the No. 283 overall prospect, the No. 27 EDGE and the No. 4 recruit in Massachusetts in the 2028 class.
Florida State currently has two verbal commitments in #Tribe28, a group that ranks No. 7 nationally.
