Florida State men’s basketball is getting a new look in 2026-27, and it comes with a first for the program: a jersey patch sponsor.
ReliaQuest, the Tampa-based cybersecurity company, will become the Seminoles’ official jersey patch partner in a new multi-year agreement announced Friday by Florida State Athletics. The company’s logo will appear on all Seminole game jerseys beginning with the 2026-27 season.
For Florida State, the deal is more than a branding update. It is the program’s first-ever jersey patch sponsorship, a milestone Michael Alford called a reflection of the direction of the program under Luke Loucks.
“This partnership with ReliaQuest represents an important milestone for Florida State Athletics and reflects the continued momentum of our men's basketball program under Coach Luke Loucks,” Vice President and Director of Athletics Michael Alford said. “As the first jersey patch partnership in our athletics history, it demonstrates the strength of the Florida State brand and the confidence innovative companies like ReliaQuest have in the direction of our program.”
Alford said the expanded relationship will help support student-athletes while pairing Florida State with a company built around innovation, excellence and forward-thinking leadership.
The connection between the two sides is already established. ReliaQuest has sponsored FSU Athletics since 2023, became the university’s official cybersecurity partner in 2025 and also works with the Florida State University College of Business and the Atlantic Coast Conference.
Headquartered in Tampa, ReliaQuest describes itself as one of the world’s fastest-growing cybersecurity technology companies. Its GreyMatter platform is designed to help organizations defend against increasingly sophisticated cyber threats, including AI-driven attacks.
The company’s mission, Brian Murphy said, is about getting more people to understand cybersecurity and the opportunities around it.
“At ReliaQuest, we are focused on raising awareness of the importance of cybersecurity and the opportunities in the industry,” ReliaQuest founder and CEO Brian Murphy said. “Partnerships with organizations like Florida State University help us bring that awareness to a broader audience. We're proud to support FSU Athletics.”
Loucks, too, pointed to the relationship behind the deal as a major part of what makes it meaningful.
“We're excited to welcome ReliaQuest as a partner of Florida State Basketball and to have their logo represented on our uniforms this season,” Loucks said. “What makes this partnership so special are the people and the relationships behind it. Brian Murphy has been an incredible asset and friend, and we're grateful for the opportunity to work with a company that believes in excellence, people and building something bigger than themselves.”
Florida State Global Partnerships, a collaboration between Legends Global and Florida State Athletics, handled the agreement.
With the patch set to debut in 2026-27, the partnership gives Florida State another marker of a new era under Loucks while extending ReliaQuest’s presence across the university, athletics department and ACC.

Florida State Basketball Enters A New Era With A First For The Program
Florida State basketball is about to add a new look as the program steps into a sponsorship model that has never been part of Seminole athletics before. Florida State Athletics announced a multi-year partnership with ReliaQuest, making the company the official jersey patch partner for the men's basketball team beginning in the 2026-27 season, with the logo set to appear on all game jerseys.
The deal marks the first jersey patch sponsorship in Florida State Athletics history, a notable shift for a program now tying its identity to a corporate partner in a more visible way. The school framed the move as a shared commitment to innovation and excellence, and it gives the basketball program a fresh layer of distinction as it prepares for a new era on the floor. Florida State's Secondary Just Took A Tough Hit At Safety
Florida States secondary took a significant blow with Karson Hobbs sidelined after a season-ending knee injury, a setback confirmed by coach Mike Norvell. The Notre Dame transfer had been working through a position change and giving the Seminoles another option in the back end, which made his progress one of the more quietly important developments in camp and early-season preparation.
Hobbs absence leaves Florida State thinner at safety, especially with the staff still sorting out the best pieces behind its top group. The encouraging part is that he is expected to recover, but for now the Seminoles have to absorb the loss of a player who was starting to fit into the rotation and could have helped stabilize a position that does not have much margin for error. Florida State Football Faces An Awkward Revenue Question Fans Will Notice
The NCAAs new approval of commercial patches on uniforms has opened another lane for athletic departments to chase revenue, and plenty of schools have already moved quickly to lock in sponsorships across multiple sports. Florida State has taken a step in that direction with its announced Reliaquest patch deal, though that agreement is tied to basketball and begins in the 2026-27 season, leaving the broader push around uniform branding very much in motion.
What stands out for Seminoles fans is that football, the sport that drives the biggest spotlight and the biggest dollars, still does not have a patch deal in place. In a market where athletic departments are weighing every new revenue stream and trying to keep pace with the national heavyweights, the absence of a football sponsorship only adds another layer to the discussion about how aggressively Florida State is monetizing its brand and where the next move might come from.
