Duce Robinson has already made the kind of move that changes a receiver room. Now Florida State is banking on him doing it again in 2026.
At 6-foot-6 and 223 pounds, Robinson gives the Seminoles a blend of size, speed and athleticism that stands out anywhere, and his first season in Tallahassee backed up the buzz. After transferring from USC, he became one of the ACC’s most productive wideouts and quickly put himself on the list of the best receivers returning to college football next year.
Robinson arrived in college as one of the headliners in the 2023 recruiting class. The Phoenix, Arizona, native was a five-star prospect and also a baseball talent, enough to get drafted in the 20th round of the 2022 MLB Draft. He passed on that route and chose USC, where he played both sports.
His time with the Trojans produced 39 catches for 747 yards and seven touchdowns over two seasons. His 19 yards per catch was the best mark he posted in that span.
Even with that production, Robinson was stuck behind bigger names in the USC offense, including future Bliennitkoff winner Makai Lemon and future third-round pick Jakobi Lane. With the Trojans unable to put together a suitable NIL package for their third receiver, Robinson entered the transfer portal and landed at Florida State.
That decision paid off right away. In his first year with the Seminoles, Robinson hauled in 56 passes for 1,081 yards and six touchdowns. His 19.3 yards per catch led Florida State, and his work earned him All-ACC honors.
He also had the kind of breakout stretches that make people sit up. Robinson posted five 100-yard receiving games and went off for 173 yards against East Texas A&M, reinforcing the idea that he’s more than just a big target - he’s one of the most dangerous receivers in the country.
The appeal is obvious. Robinson has a huge catch radius, excellent body control and the kind of contested-catch ability that makes him a problem near the goal line. His height, vertical ability and knack for boxing out defenders give him a real red-zone edge.
NFL scouts are already paying attention. They like the physical package and view him as a first-round candidate if he keeps sharpening his route running. Because he moves well for his size, a 4.5 in the 40 - or better - would make him a strong bet to go on day one of the 2026 NFL Draft.
For now, Robinson is set to be one of the biggest names on the national receiver watch list. With a full offseason ahead of him, he has a chance to push toward All-American status and add his name to the list of Florida State receivers who made it to the NFL.

Florida State Faces A 2026 Decision That Could Define Norvells Future
Florida States 2026 season already looks like the kind that can expose every weakness in a hurry. After a 5-7 finish in 2025, Mike Norvell is heading into a year loaded with pressure, and the schedule does him few favors. The Seminoles are set to see Alabama early in the year in Tuscaloosa, a sharp reminder that one good win in Tallahassee last season will not buy much margin for error now.
The bigger issue may be whether the roster can steady itself enough to keep the year from slipping away in the middle stretch. Ashton Daniels is in line to open at quarterback, with Malachi Marshall waiting in the wings after arriving with a strong junior-college rsum, and the rest of the slate leaves little room for a slow start. Even a respectable finish could still leave Florida State staring at an uneasy conversation about where the program is headed next. [Read more 🡒]
FSU Roster Update Signals A Stronger Leaner Team Before Fall Camp
Florida States latest roster refresh offered a small but telling snapshot of where the program is headed as fall camp approaches later this month. The Seminoles updated weight changes for 53 players since spring, and the numbers suggest a team that has spent the offseason reshaping itself, with eight players adding more than 10 pounds and four trimming more than 10.
Those shifts matter because this time of year is often where depth charts start to take shape, especially when the staff is looking for a roster that is both stronger and leaner. The changes were tracked by position group and class, giving a clearer look at how the Seminoles have evolved since spring and setting up a camp period that should bring even more clarity once the pads come on. Florida State Just Made An Early Move For A Major QB Target
Florida States second and final Elite Camp before the recruiting dead period brought a familiar kind of summer buzz to Tallahassee, but one of the more notable visitors was four-star quarterback Chandler Dyson. The 2028 prospect recently made it to campus, got a chance to throw in front of head coach Mike Norvell and quarterbacks coach Austin Tucker, and did so shortly after Florida State jumped into his recruitment.
Dyson already has a growing list of suitors, with offers from several major programs and recent visits elsewhere, so the Seminoles are still early in the process. Even so, getting him on campus this quickly after entering the mix gave Florida State a useful first impression, and it now has a chance to keep building that relationship as the recruitment develops.
