Tristin Gaines is making waves as one of Texas' premier quarterback prospects for the class of 2028. From his early days as a freshman at Waller, Gaines has consistently drawn attention from recruiters across the country.
Standing at 6-foot-1 and weighing 180 pounds, Gaines may not yet have a ranking from 247Sports, but his high-three-star rating of 89 speaks volumes. In the 247Sports Composite, he ranks as the No. 138 overall prospect, the No. 9 quarterback, and the No. 16 player from Texas.
Gaines recently showcased his skills at the Elite 11 camp in Dallas, building on his performance from last year. Reflecting on the experience, he shared, "It was a great time.
Last year I came and did pretty good, but I think this year I did better. It was a great experience competing with all of the guys here and showing my abilities and my talents."
Beyond football, Gaines is also a standout baseball prospect and plans to pursue both sports at the collegiate level. With several offers on the table, three programs have particularly caught his eye as he looks to the future.
