Ole Miss could be headed into Saturday’s matchup with Florida without one of its biggest offensive weapons.
Running back Kewan Lacy is “uncertain” for the game after suffering a shoulder injury in Ole Miss’s dramatic Week 3 win over LSU, according to ESPN’s Pete Thamel. Lacy had an MRI on Sunday, and Thamel reported the results were encouraging enough to rule out a long-term issue, but not enough to clear him for the Gators just yet.

That leaves Ole Miss waiting through the week to see how Lacy responds. If he can’t go, it would be a significant hit to the Rebels’ ground game. Lacy has been one of the country’s most explosive backs when healthy, and he could be in the mix for the Doak Walker Award again in 2026.
He’s off to a strong start this season, averaging 4.9 yards per carry with four rushing touchdowns already on the board.
Lacy also has a history of making Florida pay. In Ole Miss’s 34-24 win over the Gators in 2025, he ripped off 224 rushing yards and three touchdowns in what was arguably the best performance of his career.
If he’s unavailable, Ole Miss is likely to lean on JT Lindsey. Lindsey had four carries for 20 yards against LSU in Week 3 and has totaled 48 yards on 12 carries this season.
